GE Universal Remote Instructions
This document provides generic instructions for GE Universal Remotes, covering manual code entry, the code search feature, and the sleep feature for models RM94902, RM94904, and RM94905.

Manually Entering Codes
Follow these steps to program your remote by entering a device code:
- Turn on the device (TV, VCR, DVD, etc.) you wish to program.
- Press and hold the CODE SEARCH/SETUP button on the remote until the INDICATOR LIGHT illuminates, then release.
- Press and release the device button (e.g., TV, VCR, DVD). For AUX devices, press AUX then the device button you are assigning to AUX. The INDICATOR LIGHT will blink and then remain lit.
- Enter the three or four-digit code for your device using the remote's number buttons. The INDICATOR LIGHT will turn off after the code is entered.
- Aim the remote at the device and press the POWER button. The device should turn off.
Note: If the device does not respond to the first code, repeat the steps with the next available code. If no listed codes work for your device or brand, try the Code Search method.
Using Code Search Function
Use this method if your device does not respond to any of the listed codes or if your brand is not listed:
- Turn on the device you wish to program.
- Press and hold the CODE SEARCH/SETUP button until the INDICATOR LIGHT illuminates, then release.
- Press and release the device button (e.g., TV, VCR, DVD). For AUX devices, press AUX then the device button you are assigning to AUX. The INDICATOR LIGHT will blink once and then remain lit.
- Press and release the POWER button repeatedly until your device turns off. Wait at least 2 seconds between each press. This may require up to 250 presses.
- Once the device turns off, press the ENTER button (or the OK button if your remote model does not have an ENTER button). The INDICATOR LIGHT will go off.
Sleep Feature (RM94902, RM94904, RM94905)
This feature allows you to set your TV to turn off automatically after a chosen period, from 1 to 99 minutes.
To Use the Sleep Feature:
- Press and hold the SLEEP button until the INDICATOR LIGHT stays lit.
- Enter the desired time in minutes (1-99) using the numerical keypad. For single-digit minutes, press 0 before the number (e.g., 05 for 5 minutes).
- Ensure the remote is aimed at the television. The Sleep Function requires the remote to be aimed at the TV to operate correctly.
Turn Off the Sleep Feature:
Press and hold the SLEEP button until the INDICATOR LIGHT blinks, or press the POWER button to turn off the TV.
