Operation Notes
- This luminaire is designed to be operated with Hinkley approved 12 Volt AC systems or other 9-15 Volt DC systems.
- Full range dimming can be achieved using an MLV-type dimmer control on the 120 VAC side of a 12 VAC transformer. A PWM dimmer may be used on the output side of DC systems.
Luminaire Mounting - Direct Surface Mount
Locate the desired position for the luminaire. Use the luminaire itself as a template to drill the two mounting holes. Use the provided screws to secure the backplate.
Luminaire Wiring
- To prevent electrical shock, disconnect the transformer from the electrical supply before installation or service.
- Run the wire to the luminaire according to local building practices before installation.
- Use the provided template to drill a hole for routing the wires.
- Strip the two wire leads from the luminaire and connect them to the main supply wire using the wire nuts. Fill the wire nuts with appropriate silicone to waterproof the connections. (Consult wiring instructions from the transformer or power supply).
Cover Installation
Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates the process of installing the luminaire cover. It shows the cover being aligned with the backplate and then pushed down to snap into place.
Align the notch at the top of the cover with the slot in the backplate. Push the bottom of the cover down to snap it into place.
For Wet Location Use: Apply silicone around the top and sides of the cover to waterproof the assembly.
Note on the smaller 15223 model: The driver is not secured to the backplate directly, but once the cover is secured, the cover will hold the driver in place.
