1.1 Introduction to the Compliance Reference Tool

The Compliance Reference Tool is a self-service tool for sellers. It consolidates multiple compliance requirements at the product category level and presents them to eligible sellers and service providers. The tool offers keyword/product type/HS Code/EU regulations/UK regulations/ASIN search functionality for education and compliance assessment.

Scope of Compliance Product Types: Includes UPSC (High-risk product control), PA (Product Assurance), FS (Food Safety), RP (Restricted Products), and EU regulations (e.g., EPR, energy labeling, EU battery regulations). More product types will be added in the future.

Covered Marketplaces: USA, Canada, EU, UK, Japan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, India, Singapore, Egypt.

Target Audience: Domestic sellers and Out of Country (OOC) overseas sellers.

Why Use the Compliance Reference Tool?

Compliance Reference Usage Simulation

Method One: Accessing the Tool

You can directly click here to find the entry point for Compliance Reference.

Method Two: Navigating through Seller Central

Log in to Seller Central, click 'Directory' in the top left, then 'Add a product'. Alternatively, from the 'Inventory' dropdown, click 'Manage All Inventory', and then 'Add a new product' on the right.

Click 'Compliance Self-Assessment' at the bottom left to enter the Compliance Reference homepage.

Method Three: Accessing via Account Health

Log in to Seller Central, click 'Directory' in the top left, then 'Performance' > 'Account Health'. Scroll to the bottom of the Account Health dashboard and click 'Product Compliance Requests' to access the MYC (My Compliance) interface.

Find the grey title section on the MYC interface, click 'Product Compliance Reference' to go to the Compliance Reference homepage.

Compliance Reference Homepage Overview

Click 'Confirm' to enter the Compliance Reference homepage.

On the Compliance Reference homepage, you will find two main modules: 'Where do you want to sell your products?' and 'Search compliance by the following criteria'.

STEP 1: Select Destination

From the 'Where do you want to sell your products?' dropdown, select your product's sales destination.

STEP 2: Search Products

You can search using keywords, product types, HS codes, and ASINs.

Search by Keyword

For example, search for 'Toys'. Select the corresponding product type from the dropdown and click the search button.

Note: If you enter a keyword and a pop-up appears stating 'No matching product types found', try using different keywords or searching by product type.

Search by Product Type and HS Code

Search using product types or HS codes. Enter a valid HS code to find related information. New EU and UK regulations are available for reference.

Search by ASIN

For UAE, Egypt, Australia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, you can use ASINs for compliance searches for some products. Enter a valid ASIN to search for related information.

Other Search Methods

For specific marketplaces, CKP may offer video tutorials. You can click on the video to open it or click the 'View help content' button on the right to see product descriptions, regulations, and requirements.

Note: This method is only available when CKP is in English.

Example: For dietary supplements in the US market, search by product category or keyword 'Dietary Supplement'. Similarly, for button batteries in the Australian market, search by product category or keyword 'Coin Batteries'.

STEP 3: Sellable and Non-Sellable Items

Product types that meet the search criteria and their definitions will be displayed below the search bar. You can check product type definitions and review product compliance via 'View help content'. Pay attention to the distinction between sellable and non-sellable items.

Note: If a product is allowed for sale on Amazon, the 'View help content' button will be green; otherwise, it will be grey.

STEP 4: Compliance Reference

Product Compliance

On the 'View requirements' page, click 'Product Compliance' to view basic product compliance requirements.

Hazardous Goods Compliance

On the 'View requirements' page, click 'Hazardous Goods Compliance'. Select the relevant attributes based on the product's characteristics and click 'Search' to view basic hazardous goods compliance requirements.

Note: If a product is listed under product compliance but not under hazardous goods compliance, it may not be a hazardous good.

Export Trade Compliance

If the product's origin and destination are different countries, click 'Export Trade Compliance' to view basic export trade compliance requirements. You can also select other product shipping countries/regions from the 'Select product shipping country/region' option on this page.

Note: This database does not contain a complete list of HS codes. For each product type, HS code samples are provided for reference only. Please refer to customs websites for other HS code information. This database also does not contain complete export control information, such as all relevant ECCNs and export license requirements for each country/region. Please contact the relevant service provider for more export control information.

Import Trade Compliance

Click 'Import Trade Compliance' to view basic import trade compliance requirements. You can also select other product shipping countries/regions from the 'Select product shipping country/region' option on this page.

UK Regulations

For sales to the UK, in addition to basic product, hazardous goods, and trade compliance, you must also review relevant UK regulations. Click 'UK regulations' to view the basic requirements for the current country, then click 'View requirements'.

EU Regulations

For sales to European countries, in addition to basic product, hazardous goods, and trade compliance, you must also review relevant EU regulations. Select the corresponding European country, click 'EU regulations' to view the basic requirements for the current country, then click 'View requirements'.

STEP 5: Print Report

Click 'Download Requirements' at the top right of the page to get all compliance content and information about selected service providers for the product. If you need assistance from a service provider, you can contact them directly.

After completing the self-assessment, Amazon strongly recommends following this process as a simulation. If you encounter any issues during this process, you can seek help or view FAQs in the top right corner of the interface.

1.3 Mobile Device Version

Compliance Reference (CKP) Official Account Version

When you access the mobile version of the 'Amazon Compliance' official account via the menu, you can find the 'Compliance Resources' option at the bottom. Click this option to find 'Compliance Reference'. After entering the Compliance Reference interface, Step 1: Select the country you want to sell in from the left-side [Sales Site] list. Step 2: Select the [Sellable] or [Non-sellable] category under the chosen site, browse the product list in that category, or enter keywords in the selected category to find specific products (see Step 3). Additionally, UK and EU countries offer a [UK/EU Regulations] search category. Step 3: Enter the product name or keyword you want to search for in the search bar, click search, and the page will display matching products or regulations.

Note: If your entered keyword does not match any products, try using keywords for similar products or entering partial product names for re-searching.

Amazon Service Provider Consultation - Amazon SPN Service Provider Network Mini Program Version

Amazon provides a platform for sellers to consult service providers. Sellers can search for 'Amazon SPN Service Provider Network' or scan the QR code in the image to access the mini program.

In the [Category] interface, search for the desired service provider in the text box at the top, or search on the main interface. The [Messages] interface supports real-time online communication between sellers and service providers. The [My] interface covers users who have not opened a store and those who have.

On the mini program homepage, search for 'Amazon Lab Service' and click [Consult] to initiate online consultation for laboratory services.

No, if there is no product detail information, 'Compliance Reference' cannot classify it. You can contact a service provider for compliance assistance.

Q7: What should I do if there are no Amazon-listed service providers to support compliance?

Amazon cannot provide service provider information directly but is continuously searching for eligible candidate laboratories. In the meantime, please contact other service providers in your country or the country of procurement.
