Radio Controls
The following controls are found on the radio:
- 1. LED Indicator: Provides status information through light signals.
- 2. Push-to-Talk (PTT) Button: Used to initiate and conduct calls.
- 3. Display: Shows information, menus, and status icons.
- 4. Microphone: Captures audio for transmission.
- 5. Volume Button: Adjusts the audio output level.
- 6. Programmable Front Button P1: Customizable button for quick access to functions.
- 7. On/Off/Information Button: Powers the radio on/off and accesses information.
- 8. Programmable Emergency Button: Dedicated button for emergency transmissions.
- 9. 4-Way Navigation Button: Used for menu navigation and selections.
- 10. Antenna: Transmits and receives radio signals.
- 11. Speaker: Outputs audio.
- 12. Programmable Front Button P2: Another customizable button.
- 13. Back/Home Button: Navigates back or returns to the home screen.
- 14. Menu/OK Button: Accesses menus and confirms selections.
- 15. Keypad: For entering information or dialing.

Attaching the Battery
Note: For optimal performance, charge a new battery 14 to 16 hours before initial use.
- Fit the battery into the slot at the bottom of the radio.
- Push the top of the battery down until the latch snaps into place.
- Slide the battery latch into the lock position.
Attaching the Antenna
- Turn off the radio.
- Insert the antenna into the receptacle.
- Use a 4IP Torx Plus screwdriver to screw in the antenna screws.
- Insert the escutcheon cover and antenna plug into the back housing.
Turning the Radio On and Off
Long press the On/Off button.
Adjusting the Volume
Press the Volume Up or Volume Down button.
LED Indicators
The LED indicator provides status information:
- Blinking Red: Radio failed self-test, out of range (if configured), Mute mode enabled, receiving emergency transmission, or transmitting in low battery state.
- Solid Green: Radio is powering up, transmitting, battery fully charged (when radio is off), or sending a Call Alert or emergency transmission.
- Blinking Green: Receiving a call or data, detecting over-the-air activity, or retrieving Over-the-Air Programming transmissions.
- Double Blinking Green: Receiving a privacy-enabled call or data.
- Solid Yellow: Monitoring a conventional channel, indicating fair battery capacity (when Battery Strength button is pressed), or in Bluetooth Discoverable Mode.
- Blinking Yellow: Scanning for activity, Flexible Receive List enabled, awaiting Call Alert response, or all Capacity Plus-Multi-Site channels are busy.
- Double Blinking Yellow: Auto Roaming enabled, awaiting Group Call Alert response, actively searching for a new site, not connected to repeater in Capacity Plus, locked, or all Capacity Plus channels are busy.
