Note: Items 11 and 12 may not be present on all models (Non-Keypad or Limited Keypad models).
Attaching the Battery
NOTE: For optimal performance, charge a new battery 14 to 16 hours before initial use.
- Align the battery with the rails on the back of the radio.
- Slide the battery upwards until the latch snaps into place.
- Lock the battery latch.
Attaching the Antenna
Turn off the radio before attaching the antenna.
Turning the Radio On and Off
Rotate the On/Off/Volume Control Knob clockwise or counterclockwise until a click sounds.
Adjusting the Volume
Rotate the On/Off/Volume Control Knob clockwise or counterclockwise.
LED Indicators
- Blinking Red: Radio failed self-test, out of range, Mute mode enabled, receiving emergency transmission, low battery transmission, or battery mismatch.
- Solid Green: Radio powering up, transmitting, or sending Call Alert/emergency transmission.
- Blinking Green: Radio receiving call/data, detecting air activity, or retrieving Over-the-Air Programming transmissions.
- Double Blinking Green: Radio receiving privacy-enabled call/data.
- Solid Yellow: Radio monitoring conventional channel or in Bluetooth Discoverable Mode.
- Blinking Yellow: Radio scanning, Flexible Receive List enabled, awaiting Call Alert response, or Capacity Plus-Multi-Site channels busy.
- Double Blinking Yellow: Auto Roaming enabled, awaiting Group Call Alert response, searching for new site, not connected to repeater in Capacity Plus, locked, or all Capacity Plus channels busy.

Icons appear on the status bar at the top of the radio display, arranged left-to-right by appearance or usage.
