Effect Algorithms
The PX-1 supports loading various BOSS effects. Each effect offers unique sound shaping capabilities. Parameters for each effect can be controlled via the unit's knobs, external footswitches (CTL 1/2), and expression pedals (EXP).
OD-1 Over Drive
Provides a soft, clear overdrive sound that faithfully reproduces nuances in playing without altering the guitar's inherent tone.
SP-1 Spectrum
Emphasizes specific frequencies to alter the tone, particularly effective for high frequencies.
PH-1 Phaser
Delivers a wide range of phase effects, from very slow to fast, with a sharp phase sound.
SG-1 Slow Gear
Enables violin-like playing techniques by controlling attack time, allowing for smooth volume swells.
CS-1 Compressor Sustainer
Achieves distortion-free long sustain. The TREBLE mode emphasizes high frequencies for balanced sustain, especially with chords.
TW-1 T Wah
Controls wah effects based on picking dynamics, offering sounds not achievable with traditional pedal wahs.
SD-1 Super Overdrive
Produces a soft, clear distortion similar to tube amps, with a tone control for adjusting treble.
DS-1 Distortion
A versatile distortion pedal capable of mellow soft distortion to intense hard distortion.
CE-2 Chorus
Recreates the classic chorus sound of the original CE-1, BOSS's first chorus pedal.
BF-2 Flanger
Offers a wide range of flanging effects through the combination of MANUAL, DEPTH, RATE, and RES controls.
PN-2 Tremolo/Pan
Creates panning effects that move sound left and right, or tremolo effects that modulate volume cyclically. Enables stereo output simulation for mono instruments.
OC-2 Octave
A low-noise octave effect providing 1st and 2nd octave down sounds, with controls to mix direct, 1st octave, and 2nd octave signals.
PS-2 Pitch Shifter/Delay
Combines pitch shifting and digital delay in a compact unit. Offers pitch shifting up to ±1 octave and digital delay from 30ms to 2 seconds.
VB-2 Vibrato
Provides a vibrato effect suitable for electric guitars, pianos, and other electronic instruments. Features latch, unlatch, and bypass modes, with a rise time control for natural vibrato.
DD-2 Digital Delay
The first compact digital delay, offering variable delay times from 12.5ms to 800ms and improved frequency response.
DF-2 Super Distortion & Feedbacker
A unique distortion pedal with a feedback function. Allows easy generation of feedback sounds by holding the pedal switch after picking.
Troubleshooting
