About Battery
A 9V battery (6LR61) is included for testing purposes. When the battery is low, the sound may become distorted. Replace with a new battery if this occurs. To conserve battery power, disconnect all cables when not in use. Due to relatively high power consumption, using the NUX ACD-008A AC adapter is recommended.
NOTICE: When "Lo" flashes on the display, the battery is low and needs replacement.
Connections
The Loop Core Deluxe can be connected in various ways:
Application 1: Direct Output to Guitar Amplifier
This is the most common setup for guitarists. Connect the Loop Core Deluxe directly to your guitar amplifier. For optimal sound with a 1x12" amp, it is suggested to activate the frequency compensation function (hold SAVE/DELETE before power-on).
Application 2: Output to Mixer/PA System
Connect the Loop Core Deluxe solely to a mixer, sound card, or full-range speakers. Activate the frequency compensation function for guitar sound with speaker simulation.
Application 3: Guitar Output to Amp, Rhythm Output to Mixer
In this configuration, the pedal routes the original guitar signal and looped phrase to the amplifier ("To Amp" output) while sending the rhythm track to the mixer ("To Mixer" output).
Application 4: Guitar and Rhythm Outputs to Mixer (Stereo)
Use both outputs simultaneously. Connect the Loop Core Deluxe to a stereo channel on your mixer. The stereo signal is produced from both "To Amp" and "To Mixer" outputs. Activating the frequency compensation function is recommended for better sound (hold SAVE/DELETE before power-on).
Power ON/OFF
When powered by battery, inserting a plug into an output jack automatically powers the pedal on. To prevent malfunctions or damage to connected equipment, always lower the volume and turn off all devices before making connections. After connections are made, power on your devices in the following order:
- To Power On: Turn on your guitar amplifier last.
- To Power Off: Turn off your guitar amplifier first.
Operation Instructions
1. Recording and Creating a Loop
1.1 Normal Recording Mode (Default)
1.1.1 Select an empty memory slot using the Up/Down buttons. The display shows the current memory number. A dot in the lower right corner indicates the memory slot contains data. No dot means the slot is empty and ready for a new loop.
1.1.2 RECORDING: Press the footswitch to start recording a loop.
1.1.3 OVERDUB: After recording a loop, you can add more layers via overdubbing. Each footswitch press cycles through: Record - Playback - Overdub.
NOTE: You can change this sequence to Record - Overdub - Playback. To do this, hold the footswitch down while powering on the pedal with the DC adapter and a cable plugged into an output jack. The display will show "rd" or "rP". Select one using the arrow buttons and press the footswitch again to confirm. "rd" is for Record-Overdub-Playback, "rP" is for Record-Playback-Overdub.
NOTE: For overdubbing, the Loop Core Deluxe requires sufficient remaining recording time. If the DUB LED continues to flash after overdubbing, it means overdubbing is not possible.
1.1.4 STOP:
During playback or overdubbing, double-press the footswitch (within one second) to stop.1.2 Automatic Recording Mode
You can temporarily set the Loop Core Deluxe to automatic recording mode:
1.2.1 In an empty memory slot, hold the STOP MODES button for 2 seconds. "Nr" will flash on the display. Press STOP MODES again within 2 seconds to change the display to "Ar" to activate automatic recording mode.
1.2.2 In this mode, the first footswitch press arms the recording (REC LED flashes). Recording automatically starts upon detecting an input signal.
1.2.3 Overdubbing and playback function as in normal recording mode.
NOTE: Automatic recording mode is temporary and applies only to the current memory. Switching memory slots reverts to normal recording mode.
1.3 Undo/Redo/Clear
- UNDO: During overdub or playback, hold the footswitch for 2 seconds to undo the last overdub.
- REDO: During playback, hold the footswitch for 2 seconds to restore the last undone overdub. A small dot between digits indicates restorable data.
- CLEAR: While stopped, hold the footswitch for 2 seconds to erase all unsaved recording data in the current memory. (Saved data is not cleared by this function; use DELETE for that).
1.4 Stop Modes
The Loop Core Deluxe offers three stop modes:
1.4.1 Before playback or during playback, press the STOP MODES button to select the desired stop behavior after a double-press of the footswitch:
- "St.": Instant stop.
- "FN.": Stop at the end of the current loop.
- "FA.": Stop after a 10-second fade-out.
1.4.2 If "FN." or "FA." is selected, the PLAY LED will flash until the stop is complete. To stop instantly during this flashing, press the footswitch once more.
1.5 Changing Memory/Loop Number
Use the Up/Down buttons or an optional external pedal to change memory slots. When changing loops during playback, the new loop number flashes, and playback starts seamlessly at the end of the current loop, allowing for smooth transitions.
1.6 Saving a Loop to Memory
Once a musical loop is created, you can save it to one of 99 memory slots. The total recording time is approximately 8 hours across all slots.
1.6.1 Briefly press the SAVE button. The memory number and "SA." will flash.
1.6.2 Use the Up/Down buttons to select an empty memory slot (no dot on display). Press SAVE again to confirm. Pressing any other button (except SAVE/Up/Down) cancels the save.
1.6.3 All settings (recording, stop mode, tempo, rhythm pattern) are saved, except for the recording mode (automatic mode is temporary).
NOTE: You cannot save to a memory slot that already contains data. The pedal will automatically direct you to the nearest empty slot.
1.7 Copying a Loop Phrase
To copy a loop to another memory slot:
1.7.1 Select the loop you want to copy.
1.7.2 Briefly press SAVE/DELETE. The memory number will flash.
1.7.3 Use Up/Down buttons to select an empty slot. Press SAVE to confirm.
NOTE: If there isn't enough memory space, "FU" will be displayed.
1.8 Deleting a Memory
1.8.1 Hold SAVE/DELETE for two seconds. "dL." will flash.
1.8.2 Press SAVE/DELETE again to confirm deletion. Pressing any other button cancels the operation.
1.8.3 Deletes all data including recordings, stop mode, tempo, and rhythm pattern.
2. Rhythm Tracks
The Loop Core Deluxe includes 40 built-in rhythm patterns, from metronome clicks to various drum styles. Use rhythms for guidance during recording or activate them after recording to have the pedal intelligently follow your tempo.
2.1 Press RHYTHM or double-press TAP TEMPO to activate the rhythm. The default is a metronome click. The RHYTHM button flashes to indicate tempo. If activated after recording a loop, the pedal automatically detects its tempo.
2.2 The TAP TEMPO button lights up when tempo adjustment is possible. It is not available during recording or overdubbing.
2.3 Long-press TAP TEMPO to switch between 4/4 and 3/4 time signatures.
2.4 Hold RHYTHM for 2 seconds. The pattern number will flash.
2.5 Use Up/Down buttons to select a pattern.
2.6 Use TAP TEMPO to set the desired tempo.
