Operating Instructions
- Open the riveter handles as far as they will go to install a rivet.
- Place the desired size rivet into the corresponding size nosepiece (already installed).
- With the handles spread wide, push the rivet into the pre-drilled hole and apply pressure on the rivet and application surface. Squeeze the handles together until the rivet head pops free from the mandrel.
- If the rivet does not separate from the mandrel, re-spread the handles, slide the nosepiece against the rivet button, and squeeze again until the rivet separates from the mandrel.
Changing Nosepieces
- Select the nosepiece size corresponding to the desired rivet size for your project.
- Simply remove and replace the desired nosepiece on the head of the riveter. Store unused nosepieces safely on either side of the handles.
Figure 2 shows the process of changing a nosepiece, with an arrow indicating the direction of removal/insertion.
Adjusting the Head
Under normal conditions, no head adjustment is needed. If the tool jams, it is equipped with an adjustable head:
Simply twist the adjustable head of the riveter to clear the jam. The mandrel will fall out of the bottom of the riveter. See Figure 3.
Figure 3 shows two views of the riveter head: one labeled "Adjustable Head" and the other "Twist-Locking".
