Installing Your Device
Plug the device into the socket.
Important Notes:
- Ensure the distance between the device and the router is less than 100ft (approx. 30 meters).
- Minimize obstructions (e.g., walls, windows) between the device and the router.
Pairing Your Plug with the Govee Home App
What You Need:
- A Wi-Fi router supporting 2.4GHz and 802.11 b/g/n bands. 5GHz is not supported.
- A smartphone or tablet running iOS 8.0 (or above) or Android 4.3 (or above).
Pairing Steps:
- Download the Govee Home app from the App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play (for Android devices).
- Turn on Bluetooth in your smartphone.
- Open the Govee Home app, tap the "+" icon in the top right corner, and search for "H5083".
- Tap the device icon and follow the on-screen instructions to complete pairing.
Using Your Device
App Control:
- Remote: Turn on/off the device remotely.
- On/Off: Turn on/off the device at preset times automatically.
- Off Delay: Automatically turn off the device after a preset time period.
Voice Control:
The device supports voice control via Alexa and Google Assistant. Refer to the "Using guidance" within the Govee Home app to activate this feature.
- Open the Govee Home app, select your plug in the Devices page.
- Tap the setting icon in the top right corner.
- Tap "Using guidance" to follow on-screen instructions.
Troubleshooting
1. Fail to connect to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure the distance between the device and the router is less than 100ft.
- Minimize obstructions (e.g., walls, windows) between the device and the router.
- Verify the Wi-Fi name and password entered are correct.
- Confirm the Wi-Fi connected to is 2.4GHz; 5GHz is not supported.
2. Lost Wi-Fi connection / Cannot use the device with the app:
- Ensure your home Wi-Fi is functioning correctly.
- Check if the Wi-Fi password has been modified.
- Minimize obstructions (e.g., walls, windows) between the device and the router.
- Check the device's Wi-Fi indicator. If the indicator is red, re-connect the device to Wi-Fi following the steps mentioned above.
Warning
- Do not press the On-Off button quickly and frequently.
- Do not plug in appliances with power higher than 1200W.
