Flight
1. Flight Preparation:
- Before flying, ensure GPS mode is turned on to prevent the drone from getting lost (GPS mode is default when the controller turns on).
- Place the drone in a wide open space with its head facing forward.
Step 1: Turn on the drone and set down on a level surface.
The drone will auto-trim to this level surface. All lights will blink red.
Step 2: Turn on the remote control.
- Power on the remote control. Push the left joystick up then down to pair with the drone.
- Lights will flash white (front) and blue (back). Pairing is successful.
- NOTE: Connect to the Wi-Fi at this time to view the current drone on the RUKO PRO App, or wait until after GPS is calibrated.
Step 3: Connect APP.
- Connect your smartphone to the drone's Wi-Fi and check the drone's status on the "RUKO PRO" APP.
Step 4: Compass Calibration.
- Compass Calibration Part 1: Push joysticks to the 1 & 11 o'clock positions. Lights will rapidly blink white (front) and pink (back). App drone status: "Compass calibration". Always pay attention to the APP's tips.
- Compass Calibration Part 2: Keeping the drone level, pick up the drone and rotate it in one full circle (360°). Back lights will turn solid pink.
- Compass Calibration Part 3: Hold the drone vertically with the camera facing the ground, rotating it in one full circle (360°). Lights return to rapid blinking white (front) and blue (back), indicating GPS signal search. After a while, front lights turn solid white and back lights solid blue. App drone status: "Compass calibration okay".
Step 5: Calibrate Gyroscope/Reset to factory Setting.
- Push joysticks into the 11 & 1 o'clock positions. Lights rapidly blink white (front) and blue (back). App Drone Status: "Gyroscope is being calibrated" "Gyroscope okay". After a while, front lights turn solid white and back lights solid blue. App Drone Status: "fly".
- Once lights are solid, you are ready to fly.
Step 6: Starting/Stopping motors.
- Push joysticks into 5 & 7 o'clock positions. Motors start automatically. Push the left joystick up to take off, or short press to take off.
- NOTE: Please start the motor before the drone takes off.
Stopping the Motor:
Push joysticks into 5 & 7 o'clock positions again; motors stop working. Motors will stop if not operated after 20 seconds.
Step 7: 3 Ways to land the drone.
- Press the RTH home button [home-icon] (will return to the take-off point).

Product Function Profile
1. Take-Off/Landing/Emergency Stop
[Diagram showing drone and controller for take-off/landing]
Take-off: Press the up arrow [up-arrow-icon]. Propellers will spin, and the drone will take off at approximately 5 feet. Keep the drone's head facing forward.
Landing: Press the down arrow [down-arrow-icon]. The drone will land automatically. Keep hands on the transmitter while motors are spinning.
Emergency Stop: Hold for 3 seconds [hold-3sec-icon]. This function is for emergencies only to prevent damage or injury.
Safety Note: Rotating propellers are dangerous. Do not start motors when people are nearby.
2. Follow Me
When Follow Me is activated, the drone uses your smartphone's GPS to follow you. Ensure your smartphone is connected to the drone and the RUKO PRO app is running.
- Make sure the flight scope is within 10-100 meters.
- Click the follow icon [follow-icon] on the app interface.
- Wait for the app drone status to display "Follow Me ready". The aircraft will move along with your positioning coordinates.
- Click the follow icon [follow-icon] again on the app interface to exit Follow Me mode.
Common Issues: Follow Me works best with a strong GPS signal. Avoid areas with tall structures, trees, or Wi-Fi interference. Use in open areas and be mindful of surroundings; the drone is not equipped with obstacle avoidance.
3. Hand Gesture
Click the gesture icon [gesture-icon] on the app, follow the TIP on the app (PIC.1). NOTE: Hand gesture should use the RIGHT HAND to start.
[Diagram showing hand gestures for photo/video]
4. Return-to-Home (RTH)
The RTH function brings the drone back to the Take Off Point. This function requires GPS mode.
There are 3 types of RTH: Smart RTH, Low-battery RTH, and Fail connection RTH.
- Smart Return To Home: If GPS signal is available (3 or more satellites) and the home point is recorded, press the RTH home button [RTH-button-icon] on the transmitter. The drone will fly back to the home point. Press the button again to stop RTH. Pull the throttle down to land in a safe area.
- Low-Battery return to home: Triggered when flight battery is low. The drone flies back to about 100 feet away, and you can still control it. Pull the throttle down to land. If drone power is less than 20%, it returns to the set Take Off point.
- Fail connection RETURN-TO-HOME (RTH): Drone enters RTH mode if transmitter signal is lost. Rebind the transmitter if the drone reappears. Pull the throttle down to land safely.
Important Notes for RTH:
- During return, the drone cannot avoid obstacles.
- Drones cannot return home if GPS signal is weak or unavailable.
- Pay attention to the drone's status on the "RUKO PRO" APP.
5. Headless Mode
The drone defaults to Normal Mode when paired. Click the headless mode icon [headless-icon] to enter Headless mode; click again to exit. (GPS is on by default in both modes).
- Normal mode: Direction is based on the camera's orientation in flight.
- Headless mode: Direction is based on the direction when taking off.
[Diagram showing correct and incorrect directional control in Headless Mode]
Under Headless Mode, forward direction is based on where the pilot faces when pairing. Pushing the direction joystick forward makes the drone fly forward. Pushing backward makes it fly towards the pilot. Moving the stick left or right moves the drone left or right relative to the pilot. It is crucial not to change your position or facing direction to avoid confusion.
6. Trim Under No GPS Mode
When flying without GPS, you can trim the drone for balanced flight. Keep pressing the trim button [trim-icon] until the controller beeps once to enter Trim Mode. Push the direction joystick to the opposite side of the drift to rebalance. For example, if the drone drifts left, push the joystick right. Release the joystick to exit Trim Mode.
