Introduction to Amazon Points
Amazon Points (亞馬遜積點) is a unique loyalty program for the Japanese Amazon marketplace. It allows consumers to earn and redeem points, with 1 point equivalent to 1 Japanese Yen (JPY). This promotional tool enables sellers to offer additional points to buyers without altering the product's base price, thereby enhancing customer engagement and loyalty.
Benefits of Using Amazon Points:
- ? Attracts consumers to browse product detail pages (Listings).
- ? Improves conversion rates and product exposure.
- ⭐ Enhances customer loyalty.
Consumer Experience:
The Amazon Points information you create will typically be displayed on the following pages:
- Search Results & Dedicated Filter Options: A product listing shows "5% Points" next to the price, with an option to filter by "Can I get points?".
- Product Detail Page: A product displays "5% Points" near the price, alongside an "Add to Cart" button.
- Checkout Page: The buyer's cart summary shows "Amazon Points: 2", indicating points used or available for redemption.
How to Create and Manage Amazon Points
Access the Amazon Points management system through the seller central interface.
Navigation:
Navigate to the "Advertising" menu and click "Manage Your Points" to access the Amazon Points center.
Account-Level Settings:
In the Amazon Points Center, you can set a default point percentage for all your products. By default, this is set to 1%. You can adjust this account-level percentage anywhere from 0% to 50% (whole numbers only). This setting applies to all products unless overridden by specific product settings.
Specific Product Settings:
If you wish to apply different point percentages to individual products, you can use the "Manage Specific Product Point Settings" feature. This involves downloading a template file, filling it with the desired SKU and point percentage, and then uploading it.
Template Details:
The template file includes columns for:
- sku: The Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) of your product.
- points_percent: The desired point percentage for the product (e.g., 5 for 5%). Enter "0" if you do not want to set points for a specific product.
- action: Specifies whether to "update" (add or modify points) or "delete" (remove specific product settings and revert to account-level defaults).
Ensure SKUs are separated by tabs, and each entry is on a new line.
Batch Product Settings:
For bulk configuration of product points, use the inventory file upload method. Navigate to "Catalog" > "Add Products via Upload" > "Download Spreadsheet" > "Generate Spreadsheet" to obtain and populate an inventory file with your product point rules.
Fee Standards and Important Notes
Amazon Points Fee Standards:
Amazon Points is a free promotional tool. There are no specific requirements for product listings or seller ratings. Beyond standard delivery fees and sales commissions, Amazon does not charge additional fees for participation. Sellers are charged 1 Japanese Yen (JPY) for each point redeemed by a buyer.
Important Notes on Using Amazon Points:
❓ How to check if Amazon Points have been used?
The processing of Amazon Points is similar to gift cards, and specific usage details are not displayed in reports. When used in conjunction with cash-on-delivery orders, Amazon Points appear as a pre-payment in the order report. The report indicates the pre-payment amount but does not show specific point redemption details.
