Installation Instructions
WARNING: SHOCK HAZARD. Ensure power to the circuit is OFF at the breaker or fuse box before proceeding. If unsure, consult a qualified electrician.
Tools Needed:
- Screwdriver
- Pliers
Single-Switch Wiring:
- Shut off power to the circuit. Verify power is OFF.
- Remove the wallplate and mounting screws.
- Carefully remove the existing switch from the box without disconnecting wires.
- Identify the wires: Ground (Green/Bare), Line/Load (Black), Neutral (White), and Traveler (Red/Other - for 3-way installations only).
- Disconnect wires from the old switch and label them.
- Match the switch terminals (A. Ground, B. Line/Load, C. Line/Load, D. Traveler, E. Neutral) to the corresponding wires.
- Strip wire insulation to 5/8in. (16mm).
- Connect the ground wire to the GROUND terminal.
- Connect the load wire (to the light) to one LINE/LOAD terminal.
- Connect the line wire (from the electrical panel) to the other LINE/LOAD terminal.
- Connect the neutral wire to the NEUTRAL terminal (use jumper wire if needed).
- Insert the switch into the box, being careful not to pinch wires.
- Mount the switch independently in a vertical position.
- Secure the switch with the supplied screws.
- Mount the wallplate.
- Restore power and test the system.
Changing Paddle Color (Optional):
- Push side tabs to release the paddle. Lift the cover off.
- Snap the new paddle into place.
- Return to step 3 of the installation.
Multi-Switch Wiring:
For 3-way or 4-way installations, the Enbrighten add-on switch (12723/46199) is required. Do not connect the traveler terminal to a non-Enbrighten switch. Ensure add-on switches are correctly installed before applying power.
