Cubot X19 S Quick Start Guide
Welcome to your new Cubot X19 S smartphone. This guide will help you get started and explore its features.
Safety Information
Please read the following points carefully to ensure safe usage:
Use Safely
Do not use the phone in situations that could lead to danger.
Transport Safety
Observe all transport laws and regulations. Drive with both hands on the steering wheel. Do not text and drive.
Hospitals
Please observe restrictions. Turn off your mobile phone when near medical instruments.
Airports
Remember to follow all safety regulations for airports and flights. Do not use your phone during flight.
Toxic Chemicals
Do not use your mobile phone near fuels or chemicals.
Danger
Do not use in potentially explosive areas.
Accessories and Batteries
Use only CUBOT-authorized batteries and accessories.
Backup
Remember to back up all important information.
Water
Your phone is not waterproof. Keep it away from water and liquids.
SOS Calls
Ensure your mobile phone is turned on and in a service area. Tap the phone button on the home screen, select 911, and send.
Getting Started
Introduction
Ensure the SIM card is properly inserted. Press and hold the Power button to turn the phone on.
Powering On/Off
To turn on, press and hold the Power button. To turn off, press and hold the Power button until a menu appears, then select "Power off" and confirm.
Security
You can set up a security lock feature. For details on password locks, pattern locks, and other functions, refer to the Security option in System Settings.
Core Functions
Call Function
Enter the phone number on the dial pad and tap the dial button. To add an international dialing prefix, press and hold the '0' key to add a '+' sign.
Call History
Every dialed and received number is saved in the history. Numbers can be dialed directly from the history. Tap a number to view details.
Call Options
In the dial interface, tap the MORE button to access settings for speed dial and call management. Use the search button ? to browse contacts or set default contact resources.
Contacts
Access contacts via the application menu. Contacts are organized alphabetically and can be searched using the search icon ?. You can add new contacts by tapping the '+' icon, saving them to your Google Account, phone, or SIM card. Enter details like name, number, image, address, and email.
Messages
Exchange text messages (SMS) and multimedia messages (MMS). Messages from the same contact are grouped into conversations.
Send SMS
Navigate to Messaging > New Message. Enter the recipient (from contacts or new number), compose your message, and send.
Send MMS
When adding attachments, messages automatically convert to MMS. Tap the attachment icon ? to add files.
Internet Browser
Navigate web pages, manage tabs, and use bookmarks. Options include:
- Tabs: View and manage open pages.
- Bookmarks / History: Save pages and view browsing history.
- Search on Page: Find text within the current page.
- Share Page: Share the current URL.
- Settings: Customize browser preferences.
Bluetooth & Wi-Fi
Bluetooth is a short-range wireless technology for device communication.
Turn on Bluetooth
Go to Settings > Bluetooth and toggle it on. The Bluetooth icon will appear. Tap "Search for devices" to find nearby devices. Connected devices are listed.
Turn on Wi-Fi
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and toggle it on. Tap a desired Wi-Fi network to connect. Secured networks require a password.
Camera
Insert an SD card before using the camera for ample storage. Photos and videos are typically saved to the SD card.
Open Camera
Access the camera via the application menu. Switch to video mode for recording videos. A camera shortcut can be placed on any screen.
Take Photos
Aim at the subject and press the shutter button. Photos are saved in the camera gallery. Adjust camera settings via the menu icon ⋮. Switch between photo and video galleries.
Gallery
Access the Gallery via the application menu.
Share Images
Share images via installed applications, MMS, or Bluetooth.
Adjust Image
Use the "Edit" option to adjust images with various effects like Black & White, Sepia, Crop, Rotate, Mirror, and more. Adjust brightness, contrast, and saturation.
Crop Images
Use cropping tools to resize images. Pinch to zoom or drag corners to maintain proportions.
Music
Access Music via the application menu. Search for music by artist, song name, or album name. Supported formats include AMR, MIDI, MP3, WAV, and OGG.
Recorder
Record voice or audio. Recordings are saved in the Music program's recording folder. Use the recorder to set audio as a default ringtone. Supported formats include 3GPP and OGG.
- Hold the phone's microphone near the sound source.
- Tap the record button to start recording.
- Tap the stop button to end recording.
Alarm
Access the Alarm function via the clock icon in the application menu. You can set, edit, or delete alarms.
Tap to add alarms, edit alarms, or delete alarms.
Apps and Services
Google Play
Download music, movies, and games from Google Play. Sign in with your Google Account to access the store.
Settings
Access and configure various phone settings:
- Wi-Fi: Connect to wireless networks.
- Connected Devices: Manage Bluetooth connections, Cast, Print, and view received files.
- Apps & Notifications: Manage app permissions and notification settings.
- Battery: Monitor general power consumption.
- Display: Adjust brightness, auto-rotate, wallpaper, and screen timeout.
- Sound: Set phone tones, vibration, volume, and touch feedback.
- Storage: View phone storage usage.
- Security & Location: Set up screen locks (Slide, Face/Voice Unlock, Pattern, PIN, Password). Enable location services and GPS for accurate positioning.
- SIM Card PIN Lock: Set or change your SIM card PIN to prevent unauthorized use. Incorrect PIN entries can lock the SIM card, requiring a PUK code from your service provider.
- Accounts: Add Google, Exchange, and other accounts.
- Accessibility: Customize features for easier use, like the Power button ending calls or larger text display.
- Google: Manage your Google Account and services.
- DuraSpeed: Optimize foreground app performance by limiting background apps.
- System:
- Language and Input: Change phone language, manage custom dictionaries, and configure keyboard settings.
- Gestures: Set up quick actions like jumping to the camera or preventing ringing.
- Date & Time: Set date, time, and time zone. Choose your preferred date format.
- Backup: Back up data to Google servers or reset the phone to factory settings.
- About Phone: View phone status and build number.
Storage and Connectivity
Connecting to PC
Connect your phone to a PC using the provided USB cable. Select MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) mode on the phone to transfer files.
