Software Setup and Configuration
Initial Setup
Access the Honeywell website for downloads: myhoneywellbuildingsuniversity.com. Navigate to the Download Center and download the "Unified Tool".
The camera typically ships with a default IP address set to DHCP/APIPA. Users can choose to keep this default or assign a static IP address.
Camera Management with Unified Tool
The Honeywell Unified Tool allows for camera management, including initialization, password changes, and IP assignment. The software interface is shown in various screenshots.
Connection Scenarios:
Scenario A: Factory Default Mode
If the device is in factory default mode, follow steps 1a through 5a. This involves using the Unified Tool to manage the camera.
Scenario B: Already Initialized Devices
If devices are already initialized, follow steps 1b through 5b. Ensure selected devices are authenticated.
Network Protocol Recommendation:
For enhanced security, it is strongly recommended to use HTTPS only. HTTP & HTTPS mode is available for compatibility with legacy NVRs that do not support HTTPS.
The tool also allows configuration of ONVIF and streaming protocols.
