General Safety:
Operate this equipment only after reading and understanding this manual. Failure to follow instructions may result in injury or death. Contact a Rice Lake Weighing Systems dealer for replacement manuals.
WARNING: Electric shock hazard! Failure to heed could result in serious injury or death. There are no user-serviceable parts; refer to qualified service personnel. Disconnect the power source at the AC outlet to remove power. Ensure the socket outlet is easily accessible. Use the in-line power cord for cycling power. Always disconnect from main power before performing work. Do not allow minors or inexperienced persons to operate. Do not operate without guards in place. Avoid placing fingers in slots or pinch points. Do not use if components are cracked. Do not make alterations. Do not remove or obscure warning labels. Keep the unit dry and away from water. Retain packaging for transport. Use only the supplied power adapter. Operate between 32–95° F (0–35° C). Never modify or attempt to repair; service by Rice Lake Weighing Systems only. Handle cables with care. Never touch the power cord with wet hands. Never drop or impact the unit. Mount on a flat surface. Use only for intended purpose.
Mounting and Installation Considerations
The iDimension Plus attaches to various mounts using the included bracket. Key considerations for optimal performance include:
- Ensure the scanning head is leveled.
- Position the scanning head centrally over the measuring platform from the sensors' perspective.
- Mount the scanning head to prevent any movement.
- Installing the scanning head at 79 inches increases flat detection to 2.4 inches.
- The background of the measuring work area should be a constant, flat black color for contrast.
- For static roller conveyors, configure the system for depth-only mode.
- Install the system in an area free from glare from overhead lights on the measuring surface.
- Determine and have the required ethernet cable length available for installation.
After assembly, use the iDimension Single and Dual Arm Stands instructions (PN 182726) to mount the iDimension Plus and USB display RAM mount bracket. Refer to the iDimension QubeVu Administrator Guide (PN 221652) for configuration and setup using the setup wizard. The iDimension Plus can be installed at 60.2 inches for Legal for Trade applications or 79 inches for non-Legal for Trade mode, which increases measurement capabilities.
Refer to Table 1-1 and Table 1-2 for measurement capabilities in inches and centimeters.

Assembly
This section provides instructions for assembling the iDimension Plus mounted unit.
Unit Assembly
- Remove the scanning head and DC power supply from packaging.
- Remove the rear cover from the scanning head by loosening and removing the six Phillips screws.
- Insert USB, ethernet, and power supply cables through the cable slot.
- Secure cable connections to the scanning head as detailed in Table 3-1.
- Reinstall the scanning head rear cover using the six Phillips screws.
Mounting Bracket Assembly
- Secure the power supply to the mounting bracket using the provided cable ties.
- Secure the mounting bracket to the top of the scanning head using the three mounting screws removed in Step 3 on page 9.
- Mount the assembly to the stand using the iDimension Plus Single and Dual Arm Stands Addendum (PN 199199).
Connect the Scanning Head to USB Display
Once the scanning head and mounted assembly are connected, plug the USB display cable into the mini USB port. Ensure the USB port and cable are keyed correctly for a specific orientation. The USB cable guides should fit under the port guides, and the cable retention clip must be pressed down when inserting the USB cable.
Note: For mounting the display to a RAM mount kit, refer to the iDimension Plus Single and Dual Arm Stands Addendum (PN 199199).
Important: Align the USB cable plug with the USB port, raising the plug slightly upward if necessary by pressing down on the cable retention clip.
