12. Power Input: Requires 9V DC / 300mA with a center negative polarity. Use a power supply with these specifications (e.g., NUX ACD-006A, optional).

13. AUX IN (Stereo Auxiliary Input): Connect a music player to input stereo music into the Loop Core for stereo looping. Can also be used with a Y-cable for stereo effects from other instruments.

14. Input Jack (In): Mono input for connecting your guitar.

15. Ctrl In Jack: Connects to additional pedals for stopping playback, deleting phrases, changing memories, or tapping tempo.

16. Stereo Outputs (Out L/Out R): Output signal to your guitar amplifier or mixer. Out L is the main mono output. If your guitar signal is mono, use Out L.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Out L serves as the power switch. Disconnecting the cable from Out L will cut power to the Loop Core.

If receiving stereo input via AUX In, only mono output will be produced if using only Out L to a mono system.

Connections Diagram

Diagram Description: Illustrates the primary connections: A guitar is plugged into the 'IN' jack. The 'Out L' and 'Out R' jacks connect to amplifiers. An 'AUX IN' jack is shown for connecting an MP3 player or PC. The 'DC 9V' jack is for the power adapter.

Power On/Off

The Loop Core can be powered by a 9V battery or an AC adapter. The Out L jack also functions as the power switch; unplugging the cable from Out L will turn off the device.

Operation Instructions

Recording and Overdubbing

Press the footswitch to start recording. The REC LED lights up ?. Press it again to stop recording and enter playback mode. The PLAY LED lights up ▶️. To overdub, press the footswitch while the loop is playing. The DUB LED lights up ?.

Stop Modes

The STOP MODES button (5) allows selection of how playback stops after footswitch press. If 'FN.' (Fade Out) or 'FA.' (Fade In) is selected, the PLAY LED blinks during playback. A quick double-press of the footswitch stops the loop.

Changing Memory/Loop Number

Use the UP and DOWN buttons (9) to select memory/loop numbers. An optional external pedal can also be used (see Section 3). When changing loops during playback, the selected loop number blinks. Playback of the new loop begins seamlessly as the current loop finishes, allowing for perfect transitions between sections like verses and choruses.

Saving a Loop to Memory

After creating a loop, you can save it to memory. The Loop Core supports up to 99 memories with a total memory capacity of 4GB, allowing for approximately 6 hours of recording time.

  1. Briefly press the SAVE button. The memory number and "SA." will blink on the display.
  2. Use the UP or DOWN button to select an empty memory slot (indicated by no dot in the lower right corner of the display). Press SAVE again to confirm the memorization. Alternatively, press any other button (except UP/DOWN) to cancel saving.
  3. All data, including recordings, stop mode, tempo, and rhythm pattern, are saved. The recording mode itself is not saved. Automatic recording mode is temporary.

NOTE: You cannot save to a memory slot that already contains data. If the next memory slot has data, you will be directed to the nearest empty slot.

Copying a Loop Phrase

To copy a recorded loop to another memory slot:

  1. Select the loop memory you wish to copy.
  2. Briefly press the SAVE/DELETE button. The memory number will blink on the display.
  3. Use the UP or DOWN button to select an empty memory slot. Press SAVE again to confirm the memorization.

NOTE: If there isn't enough remaining memory to copy the selected loop, "FU" will be displayed.

Deleting a Memory

To delete a memory slot:

  1. Press and hold the SAVE/DELETE button for two seconds. "dL." will blink on the display.
  2. Press SAVE/DELETE again to confirm deletion. Alternatively, press any other button (except SAVE/DELETE) to cancel.
  3. All data in the selected memory slot, including recordings, stop mode, tempo, and rhythm pattern, will be deleted.

Rhythm Tracks

The Loop Core features built-in rhythm tracks with 40 patterns, ranging from metronome clicks to drum tracks in various musical styles. Use the rhythm to guide your recording or activate it after recording; the Loop Core will intelligently detect and follow your tempo. The TAP TEMPO button blinks to indicate the beat.

Using Rhythm Tracks

Press the RHYTHM button (6) or TAP TEMPO button (8) to activate the rhythm. The default sound is a metronome click. The RHYTHM button blinks to indicate the tempo. If you start the rhythm after recording a loop, the Loop Core automatically detects its tempo.

The TAP TEMPO button lights up to indicate it can be used to set the tempo. If it does not light up, tempo adjustment is not possible under current conditions (e.g., during recording or overdubbing).

To select a rhythm pattern: Press and hold the RHYTHM button for 2 seconds. The pattern number will blink on the display. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to choose your preferred pattern. Use the TAP TEMPO button to set the desired tempo.

Time Signature (4/4 and 3/4)

By default, the Loop Core uses a 4/4 time signature. To change to 3/4:

  1. From an empty memory, activate the rhythm. Press and hold the TAP TEMPO button until "4b" or "3b" blinks on the display.
  2. Press the UP or DOWN button to toggle between "4b" and "3b".
  3. Press TAP TEMPO again to confirm the setting.

NOTE: The 3/4 setting applies only to the current memory. Time signature can only be changed before any recording is made. It cannot be changed if a recording already exists.

USB Connection

Connect a USB cable (digital camera type) between the Loop Core and your PC. Power on the Loop Core by connecting the power adapter and inserting a cable into the Out jack. The Loop Core display will show "UC" once the connection is established. You can now import WAV files into the Loop Core or save recorded phrases to your PC.

Importing WAV Files into the Loop Core

  1. Click on the Loop Core removable drive to open it, then open the "Cherub" folder.
  2. Open the WAV folder. There are 99 folders for 99 memory numbers: "W001", "W002", ..., "W099". Choose an empty folder to import a WAV file, e.g., "W031".
  3. Copy your WAV file from your computer into the "W031" folder and rename it "w031.wav".
  4. This WAV file is imported and can be played as a loop in memory number 31 of the Loop Core.

NOTE: The Loop Core accepts 16-bit, 44.1 kHz stereo WAV files.

Saving and Retrieving Loop Core Phrases to Your PC

  1. Copy the "Cherub" folder to your PC for backup.
  2. Copy the "Cherub" folder from your PC to the Loop Core drive to restore.

IMPORTANT: The SAVE/DELETE button blinks during data transfer. Do NOT cut power by unplugging the power cable or the cable from the Out L jack while the Loop Core is processing data.

Resetting the Loop Core

To restore the Loop Core to factory settings:

  1. Power on the Loop Core while holding down its footswitch until "rd" or "rP" is displayed.

External Pedal (WTB-004)
