Pre-styling
Prepare your hair for styling using the appropriate attachments.
- For straight and wavy hair, use the Fast dryer or Dryer+Flyaway smoother attachment. The Dryer+Flyaway smoother has two modes: drying and smoothing. Use the cool tip to switch between modes. Hair should be dry but feel cool to the touch before curling with barrels.
- For curly and coily hair, use the Firm smoothing brush. Brush hair downwards in small sections, starting from the ends and working towards the roots, until slightly damp to touch.

Curling
This section details how to use the barrels for curling, including the i.d. curl™ sequence.
The Dyson Airwrap i.d.™ multi-styler and dryer remembers your personalised i.d. curl™ sequence, which tailors wrapping and styling times based on your personal hair profile via the MyDyson™ app.
Slide up and release the power switch to activate the i.d. curl™ sequence, following initial app set-up.
Barrels
- Step 1: Take a section of hair and bring the barrel towards the tips. The hair will begin to wrap around the barrel.
- Step 2: Move the styler towards your head without twisting. Your personalised i.d. curl™ sequence will run.
- Step 3: A cold shot will automatically activate to set the curl. Airflow will automatically reduce when the sequence is complete. Move the device downwards to release the curl. To change curl direction, rotate the barrel's cool tip.

Shaping
Techniques for shaping hair using different brush attachments.
Smoothing brushes
Use the Smoothing brush to brush hair from root to tip.
Tip: For volume, face the bristles outwards. Turn the brush inwards at the ends to create shape.

Volumising
The Round volumising brush features long, fine bristles designed to direct air into the hair, providing body and creating tension to shape the hair as it dries.
Tip: Lift sections upwards as you dry to add volume. Wrap hair around and under the brush to shape the ends.

Smoothing
Achieve smooth styles using the Blade concentrator and Dryer+Flyaway smoother.
The Blade concentrator
Use the Blade concentrator to create a smooth style with a high-velocity blade of air for precision styling. Focused airflow helps create bends and flicks with a brush.

Once secured, the Blade concentrator can be rotated 360 degrees for ease when styling.

Tip: Angle the attachment downwards along the hair tress to avoid disruption and achieve a smooth, aligned finish. Avoid angling it at a perpendicular angle.

Dryer+Flyaway smoother
Rotate the cool tip to select Smoothing mode. Press against hair to switch airflow direction.
On the side of the Dryer+Flyaway smoother, twist the rotating cool tip to select Smoothing mode. Run the attachment downwards towards the hair tips.

Use on dry hair to hide flyaways. Position the attachment against the hair until it attracts, then slowly run it down to the tips. This is for use on dry and straight hair.
How to use the contact bar: Position the contact bar against the head until you hear a click and the hair attracts. Run from root to tip to hide flyaways.

Diffusing
Enhance natural waves and curls or create volume with the Wave+Curl diffuser.
Wave+Curl diffuser
- Dome mode: Airflow is drawn into the dome to help enhance and smooth natural waves or curls.
- Diffuse mode: Detachable prongs disperse airflow to the roots for textured, voluminous curls and coils.

The Dyson Airwrap i.d.™ multi-styler and dryer uses highly tuned technology for outstanding performance. This technology requires regular maintenance to keep it free from dust and hair product residue.
