Getting to Know Your Chevrolet SSR
Congratulations on your purchase of a Chevrolet SSR (Super Sport Roadster). Please read this information and your Owner Manual to ensure an outstanding ownership experience. Note that your vehicle may not include all the features described in this booklet. Place this booklet in your Owner Manual portfolio for easy reference.
Instrument Panel
The instrument panel houses various controls and displays for the vehicle's operation.
Key components include:
- A. Climate Control Vents: For directing airflow.
- B. Instrument Panel Cluster: Displays gauges and warning lights.
- C. Turn Signal/Multifunction Lever: Controls turn signals and other functions.
- D. Exterior and Interior Lamps Control: Manages exterior and interior lighting.
- E. Driver Information Center (DIC) buttons: Used to navigate and control the DIC display.
- F. Audio Steering Wheel Controls: Buttons on the steering wheel for audio system operation.
- G. Storage Tray: A compartment for small items.
- H. Audio System: The main unit for radio, CD, and other audio sources.
- I. Climate Control System: Controls for heating and air conditioning.
- J. Transmission Shift Lever: For selecting drive gears.
- K. Cupholder: For holding beverages.
- L. Glove Box: A lockable compartment for storage.

Instrument Panel Cluster
The instrument panel cluster provides critical information about your vehicle's operation through gauges and indicator lights.
Key features include:
- A. Tachometer: Displays engine revolutions per minute (RPM).
- B. Speedometer, Odometer, Trip Odometer, Transmission Gear Selector: Shows vehicle speed, total distance traveled, trip distance, and the current transmission gear.
- C. Coolant Temperature Gauge: Indicates engine coolant temperature.
- D. Fuel Gauge: Shows the amount of fuel in the tank.
- E. Oil Pressure Gauge: Displays the engine oil pressure.
- F. Driver Information Center (DIC): A digital display for various vehicle information and messages.
Important: Familiarize yourself with the gauges and indicators in your Owner Manual to ensure safe operation and prevent damage.

Malfunction Indicator Lamp / Service Engine Soon
If the Malfunction Indicator Light (Check Engine light) is flashing, safely pull over, turn off the engine, wait 10 seconds, and restart. If it continues to flash, see your dealer for service. If the light remains on steadily, check that the fuel cap is tightened securely (it should click). A few driving trips with a properly attached cap may turn the light off.

Heated Seats (if equipped)
Driver and passenger seats can be heated. Controls are located on the outboard side of the seats. Press the lower part of the switch for low heat, the upper part for high heat. Move the switch to the center to turn off. The feature operates only when the ignition is on.

Power Seats
Power seat controls are on the outboard sides of the front seats. The driver's seat offers six-way power adjustment. The passenger seat has power control for forward and rearward adjustment.
Driver Seat Controls:
- Seat Cushion: Use the front of the control (labeled 'A' in diagrams) to adjust the front of the seat cushion up or down. Use the rear of the control to adjust the rear of the cushion.
- Seat Height: Move the center of the control to raise or lower the entire seat.
- Forward/Backward: Slide the seat control forward or rearward to move the entire seat.
Front Passenger Seat: Slide the seat control forward or rearward to move the seat forward or backward until the desired position is reached.
Power Lumbar: The control button (labeled 'B' in diagrams) operates the power lumbar support. Press forward for more support, rearward for less.
Seatback Latches: Fold seatbacks forward by pushing the lever on the side rearward and moving the seatback forward. Return the seatback to the upright position by moving it fully back until it latches.

Memory Driver Seat (if equipped)
Your vehicle may have a two-driver memory function for seating positions. The Driver Information Center (DIC) can also personalize additional functions.
To Program: Adjust the seat to the desired position. Press and hold button "1" on the seat for three seconds until a chime sounds. Repeat for button "2" for a second driver.
Recall Seat Position: With the vehicle in PARK, press button 1 or 2. A chime will sound, and the position will be recalled. Press any seat control to stop movement.
Remote Keyless Entry/Ignition Key Recall: If enabled via the DIC, the ignition key or remote unlock button can recall memory seat and DIC personalization settings. The transmitter number (1 or 2) corresponds to the seat memory controls.

Outside Rearview Mirrors
Power Heated/Automatic Dimming Heated (if equipped): The mirror control is on the driver's door. Turn the knob to select the mirror, then move the knob to adjust. Return to center to lock. Mirrors heat when the rear window defogger is activated.
Automatic Dimming Heated Mirrors: These mirrors adjust for headlamp glare. Use the on/off settings on the inside rearview mirror to control them.

Interior Lighting
Features include illuminated entry/exit lighting, courtesy lighting, and optional map lamps. Interior lamps turn on when a door is opened or the UNLOCK button on the remote keyless entry transmitter is pressed. They also turn on when the ignition key is removed upon exiting.
Map lamps can be turned on/off by pressing the button near each lamp. Instrument panel brightness is adjusted by pushing and releasing the interior lamp control button (labeled 'A' in diagrams), turning the control to the desired brightness, and pressing it again to store.
The Battery Rundown feature automatically turns off interior lamps left on for over 10 minutes with the ignition off.

Remote Keyless Entry and Content Theft-Deterrent System (if equipped)
Use the key fob transmitter for the following functions:
- Unlock Doors: Press the [unlock symbol] button once for the driver door, twice for both doors. Pressing it four times quickly activates express-down windows.
- Lock Doors and Arm System: Press the [lock symbol] button once to lock all doors and arm the system. Press again within three seconds to chirp the horn.
- Release Cargo Area Cover: Press the [cargo area cover release symbol] button in the glove box or on the remote keyless entry.
- Sound Remote Alarm: Press to activate; press again to deactivate. The alarm honks the horn and blinks lights for 30 seconds.
The Content Theft-Deterrent System arms only when using the key fob or a power lock switch, not a manual key lock. To disarm, press the UNLOCK button or unlock the driver's door with the key.
Key Fob Transmitter Range and Memory Settings
The key fob transmitter has a range of 3 to 30 feet. If range is reduced, check distance, location obstructions, battery, or transmitter match to the vehicle.
Driver 1 and 2 Memory Settings: The transmitter number (1 or 2) corresponds to seat memory buttons. Unlocking with the transmitter recalls personalized settings if enabled in the DIC.

Programmable Automatic Door Locks
Power door locks can be programmed for personalized functions:
Automatic Locking Modes: Doors can lock when the vehicle is out of Park (P) or when vehicle speed exceeds 8 mph (13 km/h) for three seconds.
Automatic Unlocking Modes: Doors can unlock in Park (P), when the ignition key is removed, or the driver's door can unlock in Park (P).
To Program: Use the DIC personalization button to navigate to AUTOMATIC LOCKING, select it using the SELECT button, scroll through modes, and press the PERSONALIZATION button to save your choice. Repeat for unlocking modes.

Automatic Headlamp Controls
The exterior lamps control is located on the instrument panel, left of the steering wheel.
- AUTO position (B): Activates automatic headlamps when needed.
- Parking lamp position (C): Manually turns on parking and side-marker lamps, taillamps, instrument panel, and license plate lamps.
- Headlamps-on position (D): Manually activates headlamps and all exterior lights.
- Fog Lamps button (A): Located in the center of the control, press to activate or deactivate fog lamps.

Steering Wheel Audio Controls
Control radio functions from the steering wheel:
- SEEK button (A): Use the up/down arrows to go to the next or previous radio station.
- Volume button (B): Use the up/down arrows to increase or decrease audio system volume.

Entertainment Systems
Setting the Clock: Press and hold the HR button until the correct hour appears. Adjust minutes with the MN button. For RDS time setting, press and hold both HR and MN for two seconds.
Radio with CD:
- PWR (Power): Turns the system on or off.
- VOL (Volume): Knob to increase or decrease volume.
- AUTO VOL (Automatic Volume): Adjusts volume based on speed. Select LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH. Press again to disable.
DISP (Display) knob: Switches display between radio frequency and time. For RDS, select station name, frequency, PTY, or program name.
AUDIO knob: Adjusts BASS or TREB. Press and hold until it beeps to set both to the middle position. Press and hold when no tone/speaker control is displayed to set all to middle.
Setting Stations: Program up to 18 stations (AM, FM1, FM2). Turn on radio, select band, tune station, press AUTO EQ, then press and hold a numbered button until a beep.
Radio Data System (RDS): Seek stations by program type (e.g., Jazz, Rock, News) or traffic announcements. Receive emergency announcements and messages from radio stations. RDS features work on FM stations broadcasting RDS signals.
- ALERT!: Warns of local/national emergencies.
- TRAF: Activates traffic announcements.
- INFO: Displays station messages.
- P-TYPE LIST: Select program type to seek.
Radio with Six-Disc CD (if equipped)
Loading CDs: Turn ignition on, press LOAD side of button. Wait for green indicator. Insert disc partway. For multiple CDs, press and hold LOAD for two seconds. Indicator flashes, then turns green. Load next CD. Press LOAD again to signal completion. A bar indicates the playing CD, and track number is shown.
Bose® System (if equipped): Offers four equalization settings: NORMAL (overall quality), DRIVER (driver's best quality), SPACIOUS (larger listening space). AUTO EQ settings can be saved.
To play a specific CD, press CD AUX button and the CD number.

Driver Information Center (DIC)
The DIC displays trip information, fuel economy, personalization features, and warnings. It can be programmed in English, Spanish, or French. Modes are accessed via steering wheel buttons.
Trip Information: Use the Trip Information button (A) to display odometer, trip odometers, and trip timer. Reset using the SELECT button (D). Start/stop trip timer with the SELECT button.
Fuel Information: Use the Fuel Information button (B) for fuel and engine oil status. RANGE estimates remaining distance. AVG ECON calculates miles per gallon based on driving conditions; press and hold SELECT to start calculation. INST ECON calculates instantaneous miles per gallon.
ENGINE OIL LIFE: Estimates remaining oil life and alerts for oil changes. Reset the system after an oil change by pressing and holding SELECT while ENGINE OIL LIFE is displayed.
Personalization: Use the Personalization button (C) to access menus for customizing settings for up to two drivers. Identify your driver profile using the key fob or seat memory button.
Select: Use the Select button (D) to reset DIC functions, acknowledge warnings, and set personalization settings. Scroll through choices by pressing SELECT. Finalize choices by pressing the PERSONALIZATION button. To reset all personalization features to default, hold TRIP INFORMATION and PERSONALIZATION buttons for four seconds. This can also be used to cycle through available languages.
Note: This resets selected driver's personalization settings to factory defaults.
Convertible Top
The Convertible Top will not operate unless the Cargo Area Cover is fully closed. An open or ajar cover will display a "CARGO COVER AJAR" message.
Convertible Top Operation: With the key in RUN and foot on the brake, press the convertible top switch on the console.
- TOP OPEN: Press and hold the switch to open the top. Windows lower automatically. Two chimes sound when fully open.
- TOP CLOSED: Press and hold the switch to close the top. Two chimes sound when fully closed.
In case of power loss, manual operation of the roof tonneau and convertible top may be required (two people needed). Refer to your Owner Manual for details.

Cargo Area Cover
Opening the Cargo Area Cover:
- Caution: The convertible top must be fully open or closed to avoid damage.
- Press the button in the glove box or use the remote keyless entry transmitter [unlock symbol] to release the cover.
- Lift the Cargo Area Cover from the rear edge; it will tilt open.
- The tailgate can be opened using the handle inside the tailgate.
Closing the Cargo Area Cover: The area is "air tight." Ensure the tailgate is partially open, close the cargo area cover, then securely close and latch the tailgate.
Manual opening involves locating a control box under the vehicle.
Cargo Area Accessory Tracks
Four tracks are located in the cargo area (two on the floor, two on the sides) for attaching GM accessories, providing enhanced utilization.

Air Bag Off Switch
A key-activated switch in the glove box turns off the right-front passenger air bag. Insert the ignition key and turn to the "AIR BAG OFF" position. Turn the air bag back on by pushing the key in and turning clockwise to the "ON" position. An indicator light above the inside rearview mirror illuminates when the switch is off. Restrictions apply.

Traction Control System
The Traction Control System (TCS) limits wheelspin by reducing engine power or upshifting the transmission when traction is lost. The system activates when the engine starts.
To turn it off, press the "TC" button on the center console switchbank. The "OFF" telltale light will illuminate. Press the button again to turn the system back on. The system defaults to ON when the ignition is cycled.

Inflator Kit
An inflator kit, containing emergency tire repair components and an air compressor, is located behind the driver seat. It plugs into the Accessory Power Outlet.

HomeLink® Transmitter (if equipped)
Program up to three channels to operate items like garage door openers and electric gates. Follow the instructions involving the buttons on the rearview mirror and your hand-held transmitter. Refer to your Owner Manual for "rolling code" devices.

Cupholders and Ashtray
A cupholder is on the instrument panel, and a second removable one is on the passenger-side center console. Open the instrument panel cupholder by pushing its door center. Close it by pushing the center near the top.
The ashtray is in the center instrument panel door. Open it by pushing the upper edge until it clicks.
