ZKTECO ProMA Series Quick Start Guide

1 Product Overview

ProMA-QR

Components: Microphone, Camera & Palm, 2" Display Screen, Card Reading Area, Doorbell Button, Flash, QR Code Scanner.

ProMA

Components: Microphone, Camera & Palm, 2" Display Screen, Card Reading Area, Doorbell Button, Flash, Fingerprint Sensor.

ProMA-RF

Components: Microphone, Camera & Palm, 2" Display Screen, Card Reading Area, Doorbell Button, Flash.

Note: ProMA-QR has an additional QR code recognition function. ProMA has an additional fingerprint recognition function. The rest are the same.

2 Terminal Block

The terminal block provides connections for various functions. The following pins are available:

3 Installation Environment

Please refer to the following recommendations for installation:

4 Device Installation

ProMA series installation is the same for all models. The following illustrates an example using ProMA.

  1. Attach the mounting template sticker to the wall, and drill holes according to the mounting paper.
  2. Fix the backplate on the wall using wall mounting screws.
  3. Attach the device to the backplate.
  4. Fasten the device to the backplate with a security screw.

Installation Height Recommendation: Approximately 1.38 meters from the ground.

5 Standalone Installation

This section illustrates a typical standalone system setup:

The ProMA device can be connected to an Alarm, Door Sensor, Lock, Exit Button, Smoke Detector, and a PC via TCP/IP.

6 Power Connection

The device requires a 12V power supply.

Recommended power supply:

7 Door Sensor, Exit Button, Alarm and Auxiliary Connection

This section details the wiring for connecting external devices:

8 Lock Relay Connection

The system supports both Normally Opened (NO) Lock and Normally Closed (NC) Lock.

Power can be shared with the lock or used separately. The following shows an example with an NC Lock:

1) Device not sharing power with the lock:

Wiring involves DC12V, GND, AL+, AL-, BUT1, SEN1, AUX1, NC1, COM1, NO1, GND, and the NC Lock connected to NC1 and COM1, with a separate DC12V Lock Power.

2) Device sharing power with the lock:

Wiring involves DC12V, GND, AL+, AL-, BUT1, SEN1, AUX1, NC1, COM1, NO1, GND, and the NC Lock connected to NC1 and COM1, with the shared +12V and GND powering the lock.

9 Wiegand Connection

Wiegand card readers connect to the top 4 pins of the Wiegand terminal. The last two pins are used by the Access Controller. Credentials are sent via Wiegand communication.

10 RS485 Connection

The RS485 interface allows connecting multiple readers to the device.

11 Ethernet Connection

Connect the device and computer software over an Ethernet cable.

Example Setup:

Note: In a LAN, the IP addresses of the server (PC) and the device must be in the same network segment when connecting to ZKBio CVSecurity software.

12 Login WebServer

All operations such as device information, communication settings, user management, and system settings are operated and set up on the WebServer.

Step 1: Press and hold the Doorbell button of the device until the IP address pops up on the screen.

Step 2: Open a browser and enter the address https://[Serial IP Address]:1443 (e.g., https://192.168.1.201:1443).

Step 3: Enter the account ID and password. The default account ID is: admin, password: admin@123.

13 Forgot Password

Method 1 (When there is a super admin):

If you forgot the WebServer password, the registered super admin can reset it.

  1. Click the login icon on the login interface.
  2. On the pop-up page, enter the relevant information of the super admin user as prompted.
  3. After a successful reset, enter the default account (admin) and password (admin@123) on the login interface to log in.

Method 2 (When there is no super admin):

If the network is normal and ZKBio CVSecurity is connected, reset the password via the server.

  1. In ZKBio CVSecurity, click [Personnel] > [Person] > [New]. Register the super admin information, then click Save and New.
  2. Click [Access] > [Device] > [Control] > [Synchronize All Data to Devices] to synchronize data. After synchronization, reset the password using the newly registered super admin. Operation steps are the same as Method 1.

Method 3:

Contact after-sales technicians for password recovery if the device has not registered a super admin and cannot connect to the server.

14 User Registration

Register a new user via the WebServer by clicking [All Users]. Settings include user ID, name, password, card number, face, palm, fingerprint, user role, and access control role.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to [All Users].
  2. Enter Basic Info (User ID, Name, etc.).
  3. Perform Online Registration for Face, Palm, and Fingerprint.
  4. Click [Register] to complete the registration.

15 Connection to ZKBio CVSecurity Software

Step 1: Set the IP address and cloud service server address in the [Advanced Settings] option on the WebServer.

Step 2: Click [Access] > [Access Device] > [Device] > [Search Device] on the ZKBio CVSecurity software to search for the device.

When an appropriate server address and port are set on the device, searched devices are displayed automatically.

16 System Settings

Configure system settings such as volume, language, communication protocol, and device type via the WebServer [System] option. You can also enable/disable alphanumeric user ID, display IP on boot, user ID masking, and display verification name/mode.

Note: Changing the device type (e.g., to access control terminal or attendance terminal) will delete all data, restart the device, and adjust some functions accordingly.

17 Card Management

Select the corresponding card type according to your needs by clicking [Card Type Settings] on the WebServer.

18 QR Verification

Steps:

  1. In ZKBio CVSecurity software, navigate to [System] > [Basic Management] > [Parameters] and set Enable QR Code to "Yes". Select the QR code status as needed.
  2. On the Server, choose [System] > [Authority Management] > [Client Register] to add a registered App client.
  3. Open the App, enter the server IP address or domain name and port number. Scan the QR Code of the new App client. After successful connection, tap on Employee to switch to the Employee Login screen. Enter the Employee ID and Password (Default: 123456) to log in.
  4. Tap [Mobile Credential] on the App. A QR code will appear. Align the phone screen with the device's QR code scanner.

19 Connecting to Video Intercom

ZKBio Talk

  1. After setting the LAN function parameters, download and install the ZKBio Talk software on your PC.
  2. Set the server address and server port in the [Video Intercom] option on the WebServer.

When the device-side video intercom parameters are set correctly, the device automatically pushes the device list.

ZSmart

  1. Download and install the ZSmart APP on your phone.
  2. Use the ZSmart APP to scan the QR code in the [Video Intercom] section on the WebServer.

20 SIP Settings

This function requires the indoor station Vpad A2.

Local Area Network Use

  1. Set the IP address on the indoor station: Connection Mode (Static IP), IP Address, Mask, Gateway, Primary DNS, Secondary DNS.
  2. Configure SIP parameters for ProMA on the WebServer. This involves downloading configuration data and setting up dialing numbers.

Note: In LAN, the IP addresses of the indoor station and the ProMA must be in the same network segment.

SIP Server

On the WebServer, enable SIP Server and enter the server parameters for the indoor station Vpad A2 (Server Address, Server Port, User Name, Password, Realm).

21 Onvif Settings

This function is used with a network video recorder (NVR).

After configuring the NVR with ZKBio CVSecurity, set ProMA to the same network segment as the NVR. In the ZKBio CVSecurity device list, click [Search] > [Start Search]. The NVR will automatically search for devices on the same LAN. Add the device.
