Standalone Installation

The device can be integrated into a standalone system with the following peripherals:

Connections can be made via TCP/IP or Wi-Fi to the ZKBio Access IVS software.

Power Connection

Recommended AC Adapter:

Note: To share power with other devices, use an AC Adapter with higher current ratings.

Ethernet Connection

Connect the device and computer software over an Ethernet cable. The default IP address is 192.168.1.201 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. The ZKBio Access IVS software typically uses an IP address like 192.168.1.130 with the same subnet mask.

To configure the IP address on the device, navigate through the menu: [COMM.] > [Ethernet] > [IP Address], input the desired IP address, and click [OK].

Note: For LAN connections, the IP addresses of the server (PC) and the device must be in the same network segment when connecting to the ZKBio Access IVS software.

Wiegand Reader Connection

The device's Wiegand interface allows connection to an Access Controller and a Wiegand Reader. The connections are typically made as follows:

Note: The 485A and 485B terminals can be connected to a Barrier gate or a 485 Reader separately, but not to both simultaneously.

RS485 Connection

For RS485 communication, the device terminals connect to an RS485 Reader:

Door Sensor, Exit Button, Alarm & Auxiliary Connection

The device supports connections for auxiliary inputs and outputs:

Lock Relay Connection

The system supports both Normally Opened (NO) Lock and Normally Closed (NC) Lock types.

The following diagrams illustrate connection scenarios:

1) Device not sharing power with the lock: A separate DC12V power source is used for the lock.

2) Device sharing power with the lock: The device's 12V output is used to power the lock.

Important: Do not reverse the polarity of the power connections.

The NC Lock connection example shows a DC12V input and connections to the device's NC, COM, SEN, GND, BUT, AUX, GND, BELL+, BELL-, ALARM+, ALARM- terminals. A diode (FR107) is shown in the circuit.

Note: Maximum input for lock power is 30V 3A.

USB Connection

The device supports the connection of the KF1000-U reader and USB disks.

KF1000-U Reader

Connect the KF1000-U reader to the device's USB port. For more details, please refer to the KF1000-U User Manual.

USB Disk

Connect a USB disk to the device's USB port for data storage or transfer. For more details, please refer to the SpeedFace-V3L User Manual.

User Registration

When no super administrator is set, click on the menu icon ⚙️ to enter the menu. It is recommended to register a super administrator first for security purposes. Add a new user and set their User Role to Super Admin; the system will then request administrator verification.

Method 1: Registering on the Device

Navigate to [User Mgt.] > [New User] to register a new user. You can enter the user ID and Name, set User Role and Access Control Role, and register Fingerprint, Face, Card Number, and Password.

The device interface shows options for adding a new user, enrolling fingerprints (with a success message and status indicators 1, 2, 3), and enrolling faces (with a success message).

Method 2: Register on ZKBio Access IVS Software

Ensure the IP address and cloud service server address are set in the Comm. Menu option on the device.

  1. Search for the device on the software by navigating to [Attendance] > [Attendance Device] > [Authorized Device]. Devices will appear automatically if the server address and port are correctly configured.
  2. Click [Add] in the operation column. A new window will appear. Select the Icon type, Area, and Add to Level from the dropdown menus, then click [OK] to add the device.
  3. Register new users in the software by navigating to [Personnel] > [Person] > [New] and filling in the required fields.
  4. Synchronize all data, including new users, to the device by navigating to [Attendance] > [Attendance Device] > [Device Control] > [Synchronize Software Data to the Device].

For more details, please refer to the ZKBio Access IVS User Manual.

To set the server address and port for cloud connectivity, navigate to [COMM.] > [Cloud Server Setting]. If the device successfully communicates with the server, another specific icon (e.g., a cloud symbol) will be displayed in the upper right corner of the standby interface.

Note: When pairing the device with ZKBio Access IVS software, ensure the "Enable Domain Name" option is disabled and that the correct Server Address (IP address of the ZKBio Access IVS server) and Server Port (service port of ZKBio Access IVS) are entered.

Access Control Setting

Navigate to [Access Control] to enter the access control management interface and configure relevant parameters.

Available settings include: Gate Control Mode, Verification Mode, Time Rule Settings, Holidays, Combined Verification, Normal Open Time Period, Master Device, and Anti-passback Setup.
