4. Getting Started
Charge Your Headset
Connect the headset to a power source using the provided USB Type C cable. The headset can be charged via a USB Type A port on a computer or other compatible device.
Charging Status Indicators:
- Full Battery: Static Green light.
- High Battery: Blinking Green light.
- Mid Battery: Blinking Yellow light.
- Low Battery (below 5%): Rapid Blinking Red light.
For optimal charging, connect directly to your computer's USB port. A depleted battery will fully charge in approximately 4 hours.
Power Your Headset On/Off
Press and hold the Razer SmartSwitch / Power button for 2 seconds to turn the headset on or off.

- Power Off: Static Red light (1s).
Connect to Your Device
Wired Mode (For PC)
Connect the headset to your PC using the USB Type C to USB Type A cable.
Install Razer Synapse when prompted or download the installer from razer.com/synapse.
2.4GHz Mode (For Xbox)
- Ensure the headset is powered on.
- Plug the USB Type C Razer™ HyperSpeed Wireless Dongle into a USB port on your Xbox console.
- The headset will automatically connect to the dongle. The status indicator will show Blinking Green while connecting and Static Green when connected.
2.4GHz Mode (For PC)
- Ensure the headset is powered on.
- Plug the USB Type C Razer™ HyperSpeed Wireless Dongle into a USB port on your PC.
- The headset will automatically connect to the dongle. The status indicator will show Blinking Green while connecting and Static Green when connected.
Install Razer Synapse when prompted or download the installer from razer.com/synapse.
Bluetooth® Mode
- Power On: Press and hold the Razer SmartSwitch / Power button for 2 seconds until the status indicator shows Static Green.
- Initiate Pairing: Press the button again. The status indicator will show Blinking Blue, indicating it is in pairing mode.
- Connect to Device: On your Bluetooth-enabled device (PC, mobile, or Xbox), search for Bluetooth devices. Select "BlackShark V3 X Xbox BT" from the list.
- Paired: Once successfully paired, the status indicator will show Static Blue.
If pairing times out, follow the procedure to reinitiate Bluetooth pairing mode.
Reactivating Bluetooth Pairing Mode:
- Turn the headset off by pressing and holding the power button for 2 seconds (status indicator shows Disabled/Off).
- Press and hold the power button for 6 seconds to re-enter pairing mode (status indicator shows Blinking Blue).
- Search for the headset on your Bluetooth device and pair again.
Paired to Both Wireless Modes: The headset can be paired to both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth simultaneously. The status indicator will show Static White when connected to both.
Switch Between Wireless Modes
You can switch between 2.4GHz and Bluetooth modes by pressing the Razer SmartSwitch / Power button. To use the SmartSwitch function, the headset must be connected to both wireless modes.
Additional Setup
For Xbox:
Customize your headset and access advanced features by downloading and installing the Razer Audio Setup for Xbox app from the Microsoft Store on your Xbox console.
For PC:
Ensure the Razer BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed for Xbox is set as your system's default input and output device in your sound settings.
Wired Mode Configuration:
Access the Open Volume Mixer and adjust sound settings. Ensure the headset is selected as the output and input device.
Personalize Your PC Experience:
Use the Razer Synapse app to customize your headset's EQ, enable audio enhancements, and fine-tune other advanced features. Install Razer Synapse from razer.com/synapse.
Activate 7.1 Surround Sound:
Experience accurate positional sound for games, movies, and music. Download the 7.1 Surround Sound software from razer.com/7.1-surround-sound and register your product at razerid.razer.com/products to receive an activation code via email.
*Note: 7.1 Surround Sound is only available on Windows 10 64-bit (or higher).
For Mobile:
Download the Razer Audio App to customize EQ settings, auto shutoff, gaming mode, and more. Available on the App Store and Google Play. For China, use RZR.TO/AUDAPP.
When using the Razer Audio app, ensure the headset is connected to your mobile device via Bluetooth.
5. Using Your Razer BlackShark V3 X HS
Razer HyperClear Cardioid Mic
Plug in the Mic:
Connect the detachable Razer™ HyperClear Cardioid microphone to the microphone port on the headset. The microphone can be bent and positioned as needed.
Proper Mic Placement:
For optimal voice clarity, position the microphone so the mic diaphragm is in front of your mouth, approximately 1 inch (2.54 cm) away. Ensure the air vent on the microphone is facing away from your mouth.
Set the Mic to Mute/Unmute:
Use the mic mute toggle on the headset to quickly mute or unmute the microphone.
Change the Game/Chat Balance
Use the Game/Chat balance control to adjust the mix between game audio and voice chat. You can increase game volume and decrease chat volume, or vice versa.

- Balanced: Equal mix of game and chat audio.
- Max Chat: Prioritizes chat audio.
Change the Volume
Use the volume control dial on the headset to increase or decrease the overall volume.

Razer Synapse
Razer Synapse is a unified configuration tool that allows you to customize your Razer devices.
User Interface Navigation Buttons:
- Minimize: Minimizes the app to the taskbar.
- Maximize: Expands the app to fill the screen.
- Close: Closes all tabs and terminates the application.
- < Previous Tab: Navigates to the previous tab.
- > Next Tab: Navigates to the next tab.
- Refresh Tab: Reloads the current page.
- Download Update: Appears when updates are available.
- More: Opens a pop-up for Devices, Modules, and Other Installed Apps.

Dashboard:
The Dashboard subtab provides an overview of your Razer Synapse, allowing access to devices, modules, and online services.

Devices & Modules:
Displays all installed and available modules for installation. You can manage device settings and link peripherals to apps.
Global Shortcuts:
Bind operations or Synapse functions to custom key combinations from any Synapse-enabled device input. Note: Only Razer Synapse-enabled device inputs are recognized.
Linked Games:
Allows you to add, view, and sort applications. You can link apps to your peripherals, which will automatically set your device to a selected profile when the app is launched.
Devices:
View your peripherals, determine linked apps, add new apps, or remove linked apps. You can filter apps by views and order. You can also drag and drop executable files or use the search function.
Settings:
- Synapse: App-specific options like Auto Launch, Notifications, Recommendations, Tutorials Reset, Profile Migration.
- Device Lighting: Choose which app controls lighting effects.
- General: Miscellaneous options and software information.
- Language: Change the display language of Razer Synapse.

BlackShark V3 X Hyperspeed for Xbox Tab:
This is the main tab for your headset in Synapse. Here you can customize settings like lighting (if supported), EQ profiles, and volume.
- Profiles Dropdown Bar: Quickly change device profiles.
- Miscellaneous: Access profile-related options.
- Sound: Adjust audio settings, including EQ presets (Game, Movie, Music) and custom adjustments.
- Volume: Adjust device and system volume.
- 7.1 Surround Sound: Enhance audio positioning (requires download and activation).
- Do Not Disturb: Block Bluetooth calls while using the 2.4GHz dongle.
- Sound Properties: Access Windows sound settings.
- Mic: Adjust microphone settings, including volume, Mic Noise Cancellation, and Mic Monitoring (Side Tone).
- Power: Manage wireless device energy consumption (e.g., Wireless Power Saving to set auto-off timers).
7. Safety and Maintenance
Safety Guidelines:
- For assistance with device operation or troubleshooting, contact the Razer hotline or visit support.razer.com.
- Do not disassemble the device or operate it under abnormal current loads, as this will void the warranty.
- Keep the device away from liquid, humidity, and moisture. Operate within the temperature range of 0°C (32°F) to 40°C (104°F). Unplug or switch off the device if temperatures exceed this range.
- Gently stretch the headbands before wearing to minimize stress, but avoid overstretching beyond technical limits.
- Be aware that the device isolates external ambient sounds, potentially lowering awareness of your surroundings. Remove the device when active awareness is required.
- Listening to excessively loud volumes for extended periods can damage hearing. It is recommended to reduce volume to a comfortable level for prolonged listening.
Maintenance and Use:
