4. Barometer Functions
Your watch has a special sensor used to measure atmospheric pressure. You can calibrate this sensor if necessary.
Note:
The barometer built into your watch detects changes in atmospheric pressure, which you can then use to make your own weather forecasts. This barometer is not intended for use as a precise instrument for official weather forecasts.
Examples of Use:
- Before going into the mountains, you can determine the possible nature of approaching weather by analyzing the readings of the watch's built-in barometer.
- You can make a weather forecast when preparing for a game of golf or any other outdoor activity.
How to Perform Barometric Measurements
Your watch measures pressure every 5 seconds for the first two minutes after you enter Barometer mode. During these 2 minutes, the Barometer mode indicator flashes on the screen. After the first two minutes, the Barometer mode indicator stops flashing, and the watch automatically starts measuring pressure every 2 hours (the first measurement is taken at midnight).
*1 The atmospheric pressure change graph shows atmospheric pressure readings for the last 18 hours. A flashing point indicates the latest measurement.
*2 If the measured value is outside the range of 460 - 1100 hPa (or 13.55 - 32.45 inches of mercury), the screen will display "----hPa". Once the pressure is within the acceptable range, normal indication will be restored.
Using the Graph
Changes in atmospheric pressure are caused by changes in weather and air temperature. The graphs below show how to interpret the data that appears on the atmospheric pressure change graph.
An upward graph most often indicates improving weather.
A downward graph most often indicates worsening weather.
Note that if the weather or temperature changes rapidly, the graph line corresponding to the latest measurements may go beyond the upper or lower "screen boundary". The entire graph becomes visible once the atmospheric condition stabilizes.
Below are conditions under which atmospheric pressure is not measured, and a gap appears on the graph:
- The atmospheric pressure value is outside the operating range (460 hPa).
- Sensor malfunction.
- Low battery.
Choosing Units
- Use button "C" to enter Barometer mode.
- Press and hold button "A" until "OFF" (off) or the current measurement value flashes on the screen.
- Press button "C" to go to the unit selection screen.
- Each press of buttons "D" or "B" changes the atmospheric pressure measurement units in the following sequence: hPa/mb, inHg.
- After selecting the unit of measurement, press button "A" to return to the Barometer screen.
- Note that all measurements recorded in memory will be erased each time you change the unit of measurement for pressure or temperature.
Calibrating the Atmospheric Pressure Sensor
The sensor in this watch is calibrated at the factory before release, and subsequent calibration is usually not required. However, if a noticeable error is found in the atmospheric pressure readings provided by the watch, you can calibrate the sensor to correct errors.
Attention!
Incorrect calibration of the built-in sensor of this watch can lead to incorrect readings. Compare the readings obtained with this sensor to those from another accurate and reliable barometer.
How to Calibrate the Pressure Sensor
- Use button "C" to enter Barometer mode.
- Press and hold button "A" until "OFF" (off) or the atmospheric pressure value on the display starts flashing.
- Each press of button "D" increases the display reading by 1 hPa/mb; pressing button "B" decreases it. Holding the buttons down changes the readings more rapidly. If hPa/mb is selected as the unit of measurement, the readings change by 0.05 inHg.
- Press buttons "B" and "D" simultaneously to return the watch to the factory calibration.
- After calibration, press button "A" to return to the Barometer mode.
5. Altimeter Function
The built-in altimeter uses a special atmospheric pressure measurement sensor. The measured atmospheric pressure is then used to estimate altitude according to the "ISA" (International Standard Atmosphere) values for altitude and atmospheric pressure. If you set a base altitude, the watch will also calculate the relative altitude based on your setting.
The watch has built-in semiconductor pressure sensors that react to temperature changes. When measuring altitude, ensure conditions prevent the watch from being exposed to rapid temperature changes.
Information about Altitude Measurement
- These watches estimate altitude based on atmospheric pressure. This means that altitude readings for the same location can vary if atmospheric pressure changes.
- Sudden weather changes can negatively affect the quality of altitude readings.
- Do not use the watch during sports competitions where sudden changes in altitude occur. Do not use the watch for measurements requiring professional or industrial accuracy. The watch should not be used for activities such as skydiving, hang gliding, paragliding, or flying single-engine aircraft.
Usage
- Before starting a climb, set the base altitude to 0m at the foot of the mountain. This will allow you to determine the difference between the base point's altitude and the altitude at the end of your route.
- To determine the altitude difference between your home and another location, set the base altitude to 0m at your home's level.
- When climbing a mountain, you can enter the altitude of a control point as the base altitude, which will allow you to determine how high you have ascended during the climb. You are likely to get inaccurate readings in the following cases:
- Due to changes in atmospheric pressure caused by weather changes.
- Due to significant temperature fluctuations.
- If your watch is subjected to a strong impact.
The watch measures altitude every five seconds for the first two minutes after you enter Altimeter mode. During the first two minutes after entering this mode, the Altimeter mode indicator flashes. After the first two minutes, the indicator stops flashing, and the watch automatically starts measuring every two minutes (on even minutes).
Display readings change in 5-meter (20-foot) increments within a range of -6000 to 6000 meters (0 to 19680 feet).
Choosing Units
- Use button "C" to enter Altimeter mode.
- Press and hold button "A" until the base altitude or "OFF" message flashes on the screen.
- Press button "C" to go to the unit selection screen.
- Each press of buttons "D" or "B" switches the altitude measurement units.
- After selecting the unit of measurement, press button "A" to return to the Altimeter screen.
- Note that when changing the units for the barometer, altimeter, or thermometer, all current data in memory will be erased.
Setting Base Altitude
After you set the base altitude, the watch automatically calculates the difference between the current value and the set value. Altitude measurements made by your watch may be inaccurate due to changes in atmospheric pressure. Therefore, we recommend setting the reference altitude during a climb each time it is possible.
- Enter Altimeter mode using button "C".
- Press and hold button "A" until the current base altitude or the "OFF" message flashes on the screen.
- Press button "D" to increase the display reading by 5 meters, while pressing button "B" decreases it. Holding these buttons down changes the readings more rapidly. If you selected feet as the unit of measurement, the increment would be 20 feet.
- You can set the base altitude in the range of -6000m to 6000m (-19680 to 19680 feet).
- Press buttons "B" and "D" simultaneously to return to the factory setting ("OFF").
- After setting the desired base altitude, press button "A" to return to the Altimeter screen.
In certain atmospheric conditions, or when a specific base altitude is set, the measured altitude may be negative. The "OFF" message appears when factory-set calibration values are used.
6. Thermometer Mode
The built-in temperature sensor measures temperature and displays the measured value. You can calibrate the thermometer to correct errors.
Attention:
Temperature readings are affected by your body heat (when wearing the watch on your wrist), direct sunlight, and moisture. For more accurate temperature measurements, remove the watch from your wrist, place it in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, and wipe the case dry. It will take approximately 20-30 minutes for the watch case to reach the ambient temperature.
Information about Temperature Measurements
Temperature measurements are taken automatically every 5 seconds for the first two minutes after you enter Thermometer mode. During these two minutes, the Thermometer mode indicator flashes on the screen. After the first two minutes, this indicator stops flashing, and the watch automatically starts measuring temperature every 5 minutes.
Temperature Reading Explanations
If the measured value is outside the range of -10.0 C to 60.0 C (or 14.0 F to 140.0 F), the screen will display "----C". Once the temperature is within the acceptable range, normal indication will be restored.

Switching Between X and Graph - Temporary Battery Power Reduction Warning
A warning of temporary power reduction appears on the screen if the battery charge temporarily drops below a critical level. In this state, the backlight and audible alarms work, but sensor operations are unavailable. Very low temperatures can also cause this warning. When the watch returns to normal conditions, this warning should disappear from the screen. If this warning appears at normal temperatures, replace the battery as soon as possible.
Switching Between X and EL Indicator - Intensive Battery Use Warning
The watch automatically monitors your use of certain functions that consume significant power. The intensive battery use warning appears each time the watch detects that you are using such a function.
- When the intensive battery use warning is on the screen, sensors, backlight, and audible alarms do not work.
- The watch monitors the number of functions performed, recording the following thresholds: Backlight: 100, Alarm: 100, Sensor operations: 1,000, Mode changes: 1,000.
- The intensive battery use warning appears on the screen each time one of the functions is performed as many times as listed above, or a proportional number of several functions is performed (e.g., 50 backlight operations and 50 alarm operations, 50 backlight operations and 500 mode change operations, etc.).
- The control counter increases its value when the duration between two high-energy-consuming operations is less than 15 minutes. The counter resets to 0 each time 15 minutes pass between such operations.
Low Battery Warning
This message warns you that the battery power is low. When this warning is on the screen, sensors, backlight, and audible alarms do not work. If the appearance of this message is caused by very low temperatures, it should disappear from the display when the watch returns to normal temperature conditions. If this warning appears at normal temperatures, replace the battery as soon as possible. Before replacing the battery, carefully read section 11.
14. Important for Altitude Measurements
Relationship between Altitude, Atmospheric Pressure, and Temperature
Generally, atmospheric pressure and temperature decrease as altitude increases. The altitude measurements of these watches are based on the "ISA" (International Standard Atmosphere) values established by the International Civil Aviation Organization ("ICAO"), which defines the relationship between altitude, atmospheric pressure, and temperature.
How to Determine Altitude
There are two standard methods of expressing altitude: absolute altitude and relative altitude. Absolute altitude is defined as the absolute height above sea level. Relative altitude is defined as the difference between the altitudes of two different points on the terrain.
Barometer
The pressure measured by the barometer indicates changes in the atmosphere. By observing these changes, you can make weather forecasts with a reasonable degree of accuracy. An increase in atmospheric pressure indicates approaching good weather, while a decrease in pressure indicates worsening weather conditions. The atmospheric pressure values you see in newspapers and television weather reports are measurement results adjusted to values measured at sea level (0 meters above sea level).
