INTRODUCTION
The Dr Trust Anti Decubitus Air Mattress Bubble - 301 is a medical device intended as an air support surface system for the prevention and treatment of bedsores resulting from prolonged pressure on the skin. It features a well-powered pump that inflates and deflates the mattress efficiently and quietly with a small-size compressor. The mattress is made of durable and lightweight PVC 0.32 mm material. The continuous inflation and deflation process lessens pressure on the patient's skin, preventing pressure ulcers. A simple control button allows easy pressure setting for patient comfort. The mattress has a maximum load capacity of 135 kg.
General Use
Dr Trust Air Mattress is designed to treat bedsores in patients with prolonged bed rest. Its alternating pressure relief bubble pad system prevents skin breakdown by relieving muscle pressure. Its durability makes it ideal for home and hospital use.
- For patients spending more than 15 hours per day in bed.
- For patients at medium to high risk of developing pressure ulcers.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES
- Adult supervision is needed to avoid injury during inflation, deflation, and maintenance.
- Keep out of reach of small children as it is an electrical product.
- Do not use the pump in or around water to avoid risks of fire, burns, injury, and shock.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced immediately.
- The pump is not intended for continuous use; it may stop working or overheat.
- If the pump overheats, let it rest for 30 minutes before restarting.
- Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, or service the pump.
- Keep the electric pump on for 23 hours and off for 1 hour.
- Do not stand on the air mattress.
- Do not keep the mattress on a heated surface.
- Do not use in the presence of flammable anesthetics to prevent explosion.
- Do not smoke near the air mattress and pump.
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The bed-type medical mattress relieves pressure by sequentially deflating and inflating alternate air cells. The continuous movement supplied by the unit lessens areas of constant pressure and enhances circulation.
- Alternating pressure at a sufficient rhythm avoids prolonged vascular compression, preventing tissue hypoxia.
- Alternating pressure adapts the mattress to the patient's and their position.
GUIDELINES FOR USE
The traditional method for pressure sore control involves turning bedridden patients at regular intervals and observing risk areas. The alternating pressure mattress complements this treatment; patient observation and turning when necessary should still be considered part of the treatment.
OPERATION
- Do not use the air mattress near an open flame or heater.
- Keep sharp objects away from the air mattress.
- Do not twist or bend the mattress.
- Maximum weight-bearing capacity is 135 kg; attendants should not sit on the mattress to prevent leaks.
MAIN COMPONENTS
The system consists of a mattress, a pump, an attached power cord, a power cord compartment, and a pressure adjustment dial.
SET UP GUIDE
- Remove the air mattress and pump from packaging and unfold them with the felt side facing up.
- Open the power cord compartment and connect the power cord to an electrical outlet.
- Unroll the mattress.
- Position and secure it on the bed.
