Controls - Top Panel
The top panel provides access to all essential controls for shaping your sound.
1. INPUT
A mono 6.35mm jack socket with a 1MΩ input impedance for connecting an active or passive bass guitar. For best performance, use a good quality instrument cable.
2. VOLUME
Controls the overall volume level of a signal path, offering a clean, fast response that is articulate and punchy in the low end.
3. DRIVE
Applies a fixed amount of DRIVE to the signal path.
DRIVE enabled: A subtle amount of overdrive adding a characteristic warm sound.
DRIVE disabled.
4. PRESHAPE
PRESHAPE active: Scooping the mids and pushing the top and bottom frequency content.
PRESHAPE disabled.
5. BASS
Increasing this control adds more low frequencies to the sound, great for increasing the sub. Decreasing this control cuts back low frequencies, useful to help reign in low end feedback or clean up a muddy sound.
6. MID
Increasing the control boosts the MID band, helping the bass guitar cut through a busy mix, while decreasing the control creates a scoop and a modern tone.
7. TREBLE
Boost the higher frequencies, giving more top end clarity to the sound. Decrease the control to remove higher frequencies, good for a subby mellow sound.
8. TILT
Works like an overall balance control of the tone. Turning toward the treble clef will decrease lower frequencies and boost higher frequencies. Turning towards the bass clef does the opposite. This control is perfect for fine-tuning your overall tone and ensuring your tone works in any situation.
9. POWER INDICATOR
A red LED which illuminates when the amplifier is connected to mains power and the POWER switch is set to ON.
10. AUX
A 3.5mm jack for connecting an external sound source. Useful for jamming along with audio tracks.
11. PHONES
A 3.5mm jack for monitoring or silent practice.
Rear Panel
The rear panel houses the main power connections and safety information.
1. SAFETY INFORMATION
Important information, and the amplifier serial number. Ensure the ventilation slots aren't covered.
2. POWER INLET
A universal power input provided via an IEC C14 socket. An AC supply from 110V-240V is acceptable, and voltage selection or adjustment is not required.
3. POWER SWITCH
The onboard switch provides power isolation to the incoming mains power. Set the switch to OFF when the DBF30 is not in use.
Connections
The amplifier features a standard 6.35mm (1/4") instrument input. For connecting external audio devices, a 3.5mm auxiliary input (AUX IN) is provided. For silent practice, a 3.5mm stereo headphone output (PHONES) is available.
