Operation
Warning! Always remove the battery pack before making adjustments to the equipment.
5.1 Fitting the Additional Handle (Fig. 2)
The angle grinder must be used with the additional handle (3). It can be secured in two positions:
- Position A (Left): For right-handed users.
- Position B (Right): For left-handed users.
5.2 Replacing and Adjusting the Guard (Fig. 3)
Replacing: Remove flange nut (b) and clamping flange. Open clamp lever (a) on guard (4). Turn guard (4) 180° clockwise to point upwards. Remove guard (4). Mount in reverse order.
Adjusting: Adjust guard (4) to protect hands and direct material away from the body. The guard position can be adjusted by undoing the clamp handle (a) and turning the cover (4). Ensure the guard correctly covers the gear wheel casing. Secure the clamp handle (a) again. Ensure the guard (4) is secure.
Warning! Make sure the guard is perfectly secure. Never use the angle grinder without the guard.
5.3 Test Run for New Grinding Wheels
Allow the grinder to run idle for at least 1 minute with the wheel fitted. Replace if vibrating.
6.1 Charging the Li Battery Pack (Fig. 4-5)
- Remove the battery pack (6) by pressing the pushlock button (8).
- Check that your mains voltage matches the rating plate on the charger (7). Insert the charger's power plug into the mains socket outlet; the green LED will flash.
- Push the battery pack onto the battery charger.
Refer to Section 10 for charger indicator explanations. If the battery pack fails to charge, check the power socket and charging contacts. If issues persist, send the charger, adapter, and battery pack to the customer service center.
Recharge the battery pack promptly when the equipment's power drops to ensure long service life.
6.2 Battery Capacity Indicator (Fig. 6)
Press the battery capacity indicator switch (a). The indicator (9) shows the charge status via 3 LEDs:
- All 3 LEDs lit: Battery fully charged.
- 2 or 1 LED lit: Adequate remaining charge.
- 1 LED blinks: Battery empty, recharge.
- All LEDs blink: Battery pack is defective; do not use or charge.
6.3 Switching On (Fig. 7)
To start, push the ON/OFF switch (2) forwards and press it down. To switch off, press the switch (2) at the back; it will return to its starting position.
Important! The equipment switches to "Standby Mode" after 10 minutes of non-use to protect the battery. Reactivate by switching on twice or pressing the battery capacity indicator.
6.4 Changing the Grinding Wheels (Fig. 8/9)
Use the face spanner (5) stored in the additional handle (3). Danger! Never operate with the face spanner inserted.
- Simple wheel change: Press the spindle lock and allow the wheel to latch. Open the flange nut with the face spanner. Change the wheel and tighten the flange nut.
Notice! Press the spindle lock only when the motor and spindle are stationary. Keep it pressed while changing the wheel.
For wheels up to 3 mm thick, screw on the flange nut with the flat side facing the wheel.

- Depressed-centre or straight grinding wheel (Fig. 11): a) Clamping flange, b) Flange nut.
- Depressed-centre cutting wheel (Fig. 12): a) Clamping flange, b) Flange nut.
- Straight cutting wheel (Fig. 13): a) Clamping flange, b) Flange nut.
6.6 Motor
Ensure motor ventilation holes are kept clean during operation.
6.7 Grinding Wheels
- Never use a wheel larger than the specified diameter.
- Check the rated speed of the wheel; it must be higher than the grinder's idle speed.
- Use only wheels approved for a minimum speed of 8,500 rpm and a peripheral speed of 56 m/sec.
- For diamond cutting wheels, check the direction of rotation; the arrow must point in the direction of tool rotation.
Warning! Store and transport grinding/sanding wheels carefully to prevent damage (cracks) that could cause serious danger.
6.8 Operating Modes
6.8.1 Rough Grinding (Fig. 14)
Caution: Use the safety device for sanding/grinding (included).
For best results, hold the grinding wheel at an angle of 30°-40° to the workpiece surface and move steadily back and forth.
6.8.2 Cutting (Fig. 15)
Caution: Use the safety device for abrasive cutting (accessory).
When cutting, avoid tilting the wheel. Ensure a clean cutting edge. A diamond cutting wheel is best for hard stone.
Warning! It is prohibited to use the machine on asbestos materials!
Warning! Never use a cutting wheel for rough grinding.
Note: For increased power and runtime, use the 4.0 Ah Power-X-Change battery (Art. No.: 45.113.96).
Important: For increased cutting performance and runtime, use a 1 mm thick cutting wheel.
Cleaning, Maintenance, and Storage
Danger! Always remove the battery pack before cleaning.
7.1 Cleaning
