Features Guide
3Dconnexion CadMouse Pro Wireless
The CadMouse Pro Wireless features a dedicated Center Mouse Button that provides quick access to application-specific functions. The mouse automatically recognizes applications and assigns commands to this button.
- CAD Applications: Use the center mouse button for navigation (pan, zoom, rotate) within 3D models and drawings.
- Windows: Click the center mouse button on a Windows taskbar icon to open the application in a new window. To close an application, hover over its icon and click the center mouse button on the thumbnail.
- Internet Browser: Use the center button to open a link in a new tab. Click the tab with the center button to close it.
- Other Applications: Assign frequently used commands to the center mouse button via 3Dconnexion Settings. For example, assign 'Copy Format' in Microsoft Word or 'Enter' in Microsoft Excel.
Note: The 3Dconnexion driver (3DxWare) is required to utilize all features of the CadMouse Pro Wireless.
Side Buttons
The CadMouse Pro Wireless is equipped with two side buttons for efficient navigation in CAD and other applications. The mouse instantly recognizes applications and their environments, automatically assigning commands to the side buttons.
- CAD Applications: Press the side buttons for precise zoom control on your 3D model or drawing.
- Document Editors/Spreadsheets: Use the side buttons to quickly navigate to the beginning or end of a document.
- Internet Browser: Navigate forward or backward through web pages using the side buttons.
- Other Applications: Assign frequently used commands to the side buttons through 3Dconnexion Settings.
On-Screen Display (OSD)
The OSD provides a visual reminder of the commands assigned to the center and side buttons. By default, the OSD is hidden after driver installation. To enable it, open 3Dconnexion Settings, select CadMouse Pro Wireless, click 'Buttons', and check 'Always show On-Screen Display'. The OSD can be dragged and dropped to a preferred location. Clicking the OSD opens the button mapping panel.
Radial Menu Button
Located between the scroll wheel and the status LED, the Radial Menu button opens an application-specific radial menu for quick access to favorite commands with a simple mouse gesture. Refer to the 'Creating Radial Menus' section for instructions.
Radial Menu Example:
[Icon: Open] Open
[Icon: Screenshot] Screenshot
[Icon: Options] Options
[Icon: Properties] Properties...
Scroll Wheel
The scroll wheel offers precise, controlled zooming in CAD applications and features Smart Scrolling for adjustable speed navigation through long documents and web pages.
- High-Speed Mode: A quick flick of the scroll wheel scrolls approximately three pages. A subsequent quick flick during scrolling increases the speed proportionally.
- Low-Speed Mode: For slow, deliberate scrolling, perform a quick flick and then execute single, regular increments in the scroll direction just before the movement stops. Adjust the frequency of single increments to control speed or scroll in the opposite direction to stop.
Connecting the CadMouse Pro Wireless
The CadMouse Pro Wireless can be connected via the 3Dconnexion Universal Receiver, 3Dconnexion Keyboard Pro, Bluetooth®, or a USB cable.
Note: To pair with the Keyboard Pro, first disconnect the Universal Receiver from the computer.
Bluetooth® Pairing:
Turn on the device. Press the mode button (on the underside) until the blue Bluetooth icon LED is lit. Then, press the Pairing button. The device is now discoverable for pairing through Windows Settings.
3Dconnexion Keyboard Pro Pairing:
Open 3Dconnexion Settings, select Keyboard Pro, click 'Paired Devices', then 'Add device', and follow the on-screen instructions.
Charging the CadMouse Pro Wireless:
When the status LED turns red, the battery is below 10% and needs charging. Connect the CadMouse Pro Wireless to a computer's USB port using the included USB cable. The LED flashes green during charging and turns solid when fully charged.
3Dconnexion Settings
Access 3Dconnexion Settings via 3Dconnexion Home (desktop shortcut), the system tray icon, or the Start menu.
The active application name is displayed at the top. Connection mode and battery level are shown by icons below the product image.
If multiple 3Dconnexion devices are connected, select the desired device from the dropdown menu in the top-left corner.
Speed
This slider adjusts the cursor speed on your screen. This setting applies globally across all applications.
Advanced Settings
These system-wide settings are not application-specific:
- Mouse Motion: Enable acceleration to adjust cursor speed based on mouse movement speed. (Disabled by default).
- Polling Rate (wired mode): Select the polling rate for the laser sensor when connected via USB. Higher rates offer more accurate tracking and smoother cursor movement.
- Mouse Wheel Speed: Configure scroll speed by lines or pages per increment.
- Smart Scrolling: Enable or disable intelligent scrolling for documents and web pages.
Buttons
The Buttons panel in 3Dconnexion Settings allows assigning commands, macros, or radial menus to the programmable buttons. Application-specific settings are reflected in the On-Screen Display. To hide the OSD, uncheck 'Always show On-Screen Display'. You can swap the right and center mouse buttons by selecting 'Swap Middle / Right Mouse Buttons'.
Assigning "Quick Macros" to Buttons:
Click the key field and press the desired key or key combination to assign a macro or keystroke sequence.
Macros created this way send a "press and release" command. For "press and hold" commands (like Ctrl or Shift), use the 'Keyboard' command category.
Assigning Commands via Pop-up Window:
Click the arrow next to a button's field to open a pop-up window for assigning commands. Categories include 3Dconnexion commands, application commands, macros, and more. Selecting a command assigns it to the button.
Creating Macros:
Click the arrow next to a key field, expand the 'Macros' category, and click 'New Macro'. The Macro Editor allows naming the macro and defining key combinations. Saving the macro assigns it to the button.
Creating Radial Menus:
Click the arrow next to a button's field, expand the 'Radial Menus' category, and click 'New Radial Menu'. The Radial Menu Editor lets you name the menu and assign commands to its sections. The new radial menu is automatically assigned to the button.
