Features (Guida alle funzionalità)
3Dconnexion CadMouse Compact Wireless
Central Mouse Button (Pulsante centrale del mouse)
The CadMouse Compact Wireless features a dedicated central button for quick access to application functions. The mouse instantly recognizes applications and environments, automatically assigning commands to the central button.
- CAD Applications: Use the central mouse button to navigate (pan, zoom, rotate) within 3D drawings or models.
- Windows: Click the central mouse button on a Windows taskbar icon to open the application in a new window. To close an application, hover the mouse pointer over the corresponding icon and click the central mouse button on the thumbnail.
- Internet Browser: Use the central button to open a link in a new tab. To close a tab, simply click it with the same button.
- Other Applications: Use 3Dconnexion Settings to assign frequently used commands to the central mouse button. For example, you can assign the "Format Painter" command in Microsoft Word or the "Enter" command in Microsoft Excel.
Note: To use all functions of the CadMouse Compact Wireless, the 3Dconnexion driver (3DxWare) is required.
Side Buttons (Pulsanti laterali)
The CadMouse Compact Wireless has two side buttons for easier navigation in CAD and other applications. The CadMouse instantly recognizes applications and their environments, automatically assigning commands to the side buttons.
- CAD Applications: Press the side buttons to zoom in on your drawing or 3D model centered at the pointer's position. Prolonged pressing of the side buttons allows for precise and continuous zoom adjustment.
- Document/Spreadsheet Editors: Use the side buttons to quickly navigate to the beginning or end of a document.
- Internet Browser: During navigation, you can easily scroll forward or backward through web pages using the side buttons.
- Other Applications: Simplify your work by assigning frequently used commands to the side buttons via 3Dconnexion Settings.
Note: To use all functions of the CadMouse Compact Wireless, the 3Dconnexion driver (3DxWare) is required.
On-Screen Display (OSD)
The On-Screen Display (OSD) provides a visual reminder of the commands assigned to the central mouse button and side buttons. After driver installation, the OSD is hidden by default. To activate it, open 3Dconnexion Settings, select CadMouse Compact Wireless, click Buttons, and check the "Always show On-Screen Display" box. You can drag and drop the OSD to a more convenient position (e.g., on the taskbar near the notification area). Clicking the OSD opens the button mapping panel.
Radial Menu Button (Pulsante Radial Menu)
Located between the scroll wheel and the status LED is the Radial Menu button of the CadMouse Compact Wireless. Clicking it opens an application-specific radial menu, allowing access to favorite commands with a simple mouse gesture. The "Creating Radial Menus" section explains how to easily create radial menus for any application.
Scroll Wheel (Rotellina di scorrimento)
The mouse scroll wheel allows for both controllable and precise zooming in CAD applications and adjustable-speed Smart Scrolling for navigating long documents or web pages quickly and precisely.
- High-speed mode: A single rapid scroll wheel rotation allows you to quickly scroll through approximately 3 pages of a document. A further rapid rotation during the ongoing movement proportionally increases the scroll speed.
- Low-speed mode: To scroll slowly through a document, distinguishing its main sections, perform a single rapid scroll wheel rotation. Just before the movement ends, perform regular single increments of the scroll wheel in the scroll direction to maintain low-speed mode. Change the frequency of single increments to accelerate or decelerate scroll speed, or perform an increment in the opposite direction to stop the movement.
Connectivity and Charging (Collegamento e Ricarica)
Connecting the CadMouse Compact Wireless (Collegamento del CadMouse Compact Wireless)
The CadMouse Compact Wireless can be connected via the included 3Dconnexion Universal Receiver, the 3Dconnexion Keyboard Pro, Bluetooth® connection, or a USB cable.
Note: As the CadMouse Compact Wireless is factory-paired with the Universal Receiver, you must first disconnect the receiver from the computer before pairing via Keyboard Pro.
Pairing via Bluetooth®:
Turn on the device using the switch on the underside. Press the mode button (also on the underside), ensuring the blue LED next to the Bluetooth icon is lit, then press the Pairing button. The device is now ready to be discovered and paired with your PC via Windows Settings.
Pairing via 3Dconnexion Keyboard Pro:
Launch 3Dconnexion Settings and select Keyboard Pro from the list of connected 3Dconnexion devices. Click "Paired Devices," then "Add device," and follow the on-screen instructions of the 3Dconnexion Pairing tool to connect the CadMouse Compact Wireless with the Keyboard Pro.
Charging the CadMouse Compact Wireless (Caricare il CadMouse Compact Wireless)
When the CadMouse Compact Wireless status LED turns red (?), it indicates the device's battery is below 10% and needs charging. Connect the CadMouse Compact Wireless to a computer's charging port using the included USB cable. During charging, the status LED flashes green (?) and turns solid when fully charged.
3Dconnexion Settings
You can access the 3Dconnexion Settings panel via 3Dconnexion Home (on the desktop), the system tray icon, or the Windows Start menu. The active application's name is displayed at the top of the panel. The current connection mode and battery level are shown by icons below the product image.
If multiple 3Dconnexion devices are connected, you can select the desired product for configuration by clicking the dropdown button in the top-left corner of the panel.
Speed
This slider adjusts the cursor speed of the CadMouse Compact Wireless on screen. Note: The CadMouse Compact Wireless speed setting adjusts speed globally for all applications.
Advanced Settings
Settings configured in the Advanced Settings panel are system-wide, not application-specific.
- Mouse Motion: Enable acceleration to make the cursor move more slowly or quickly on screen, depending on how slowly or quickly you move the mouse. Note: This setting is disabled by default.
- Polling Rate (wired mode): Select the frequency at which the CadMouse Compact Wireless's laser sensor operates when connected via cable. A higher frequency allows for more accurate tracking and smoother cursor movement.
- Mouse Wheel Speed:
- Lines: Select the number of scroll lines when the mouse wheel is moved by one increment.
- One page/One screen: Moving the mouse wheel by one increment scrolls to the next/previous page.
- Smart Scrolling: Enable or disable Smart Scrolling mode, which allows intelligent navigation within documents and web pages.
Buttons
The Buttons panel in 3Dconnexion Settings allows assigning commands, macros, or radial menus to the CadMouse's programmable buttons. The active application's name is displayed at the top of the panel. Any changes made to the CadMouse Compact Wireless button settings are valid only for the current application. While using an application, the On-Screen Display always shows the current button assignments for it. To hide the OSD, deselect "Always show On-Screen Display." You can swap the right and central mouse buttons by selecting "Swap Middle / Right Mouse Buttons."
Note on environment recognition: Some applications have environment-sensitive key mapping (e.g., Assembly, Part). In such applications, different key assignments may be available depending on the active environment.
Assigning "Quick Macros" to Buttons (Assegnazione "Macro rapide" ai pulsanti)
Click the text field for the key and press the desired key or key combination to quickly assign a key sequence or macro to a CadMouse button.
When a macro is created, it always sends a "press and release" command. If you wish to assign a "press and hold" command (e.g., Ctrl or Shift), you can use the Keyboard command category in the pop-up window.
Assigning Commands via Pop-up Window (Assegnazione di comandi mediante la finestra a comparsa)
Clicking the arrow [>] next to the button field opens a pop-up window for that CadMouse button. The command category the button is currently assigned to is highlighted in bold. The pop-up window allows you to browse or search for commands in various categories, such as 3Dconnexion commands or application commands. Selecting a command by clicking it automatically assigns it to the CadMouse button.
Creating Macros (Creazione di macro)
First, click the arrow [>] next to the key field, expand the Macros category, and click "New Macro." The macro editor will open, allowing you to assign a name and a key sequence in the corresponding fields. Clicking "Save" will automatically assign the new macro to the button from which the panel was opened.
Creating Radial Menus (Creazione dei menu radiali)
First, click the arrow [>] next to the button field, expand the Radial Menus category, and click "New Radial Menu." The radial menu editor will open, allowing you to assign a name and commands to the different sections. The new radial menu will be automatically assigned to the button from which the panel was opened.
