ZKTeco MK2-V and MK2-H RFID Standalone Access Control Terminals
Product Overview and Specifications
Product Description
ZKTeco's MK2-V and MK2-H are standalone RFID access control terminals designed with robust zinc alloy metal chassis for enhanced protection and durability. These models offer advanced security through dual authentication methods, allowing users to verify their identity using either an RFID card or a custom PIN code entered via a physical keypad.
The MK2-V and MK2-H provide versatile Wiegand connectivity, enabling seamless integration into existing or new access control systems. They can function in two primary roles:
Primary Control Mode (Wiegand Input)
In this mode, the terminals act as primary controllers, managing multiple secondary readers to facilitate comprehensive bi-directional entry and exit verification.
Secondary Reader Mode (Wiegand Output)
As secondary RFID readers, the MK2-V and MK2-H integrate with existing access control systems and controllers. They offer standalone capabilities while transmitting data to a primary access control system, allowing for flexible expansion without requiring a complete infrastructure overhaul.
Constructed with a Zinc Alloy housing and certified with an IP66 protection rating, the MK2-V and MK2-H are built to withstand water and dust, making them ideal solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Connection Terminals and Ports
The devices feature a range of terminals for connecting peripherals and system components. These typically include:
- Power Supply: Connections for DC 12V power input and Ground (GND).
- Wiegand Interface: Wiegand Input (WD1, WD0) and Wiegand Output ports for data communication with controllers or readers.
- Door Lock Control: Terminals for connecting electric locks, often including Normally Open (NO), Common (COM), and Normally Closed (NC) contacts, along with a dedicated LOCK POWER connection.
- Exit and Sensor Inputs: Ports for an Exit Button, Door Sensor, and potentially a 'No Touch EXIT' button.
- Alarm and Bell: Connections for an external Alarm siren and a Doorbell.
- Communication Ports: RS485+ and RS485- terminals for serial communication, often used for connecting to a PC or other master controllers.
- Auxiliary Ports: Multiple auxiliary input (AUX1-4) and output (AUXOUT1-4) terminals for additional functionalities.
- Network Interface: LAN port for network connectivity and a SWITCH port.
- Status Indicators: Visual indicators such as RUN, ACT, BEEP, and LED lights (Green for success, Red for failure, Orange for configuration) to provide operational status.
- Buttons: STATE BUTTON and READER BUTTONs for user interaction and configuration.
These connections facilitate the integration of the terminals with electric locks, door sensors, exit buttons, alarms, doorbells, and communication systems like RS485 or LAN, enabling comprehensive access control management.
