Garrett Vortex Metal Detector Quick Start Guide

Getting Started

Power on your Vortex detector by pressing and releasing the power button. The device will start in the last used mode and be ready for search.

Mode Selection & Adjustments

Use the 'Mode' button to cycle through different detection modes. Access all settings via the 'Menu' button, using the arrow keys to navigate and the '+' or '-' buttons to adjust values. Key settings include Sensitivity, Volume, Iron Audio, and Recovery Speed.

Ground Balance & Assembly

Perform a ground balance by holding the dedicated button while bouncing the coil over the ground until the ground response minimizes. For assembly, extend and secure the stem sections, attach the searchcoil with its washers, and wrap the cable around the stem.

Charging Your Device

To charge the Vortex, connect a USB-C cable to a compatible power source (10W/2A or higher recommended for a 4-hour charge time). Lower wattage sources will increase charging duration.
