Supply Voltage | 5 | 5V DC |
Supply Voltage | 24 | 24V DC |
Output Form | E | Voltage |
Output Form | C | Open Collector NPN |
Dimensions
All dimensions are in millimeters (mm) unless otherwise stated, with a tolerance of ±0.5mm.
Encoder Body:
- Main body diameter: Ø38±1 mm
- Body length: 35.5 mm
- Mounting holes: Ø4.2 mm, located on a Ø30 mm bolt circle.
Shaft:
- Diameter: Ø6 mm
- Length: 13 mm
Cable Length: Approximately 1.5 meters.
Visual Description: The encoder is a cylindrical device with a protruding shaft. It has a cable extending from one end. Mounting holes are present around the circumference of the body.
Output Waveform
The encoder provides two quadrature output channels (A and B) and an index pulse (Z).
Channel A and A-: These are square wave signals, representing the primary rotation data. Channel A is typically 90 degrees out of phase with Channel B.
Channel B and B-: These are the complementary signals to Channel A, also 90 degrees out of phase with Channel A.
Channel Z and Z-: This is the index pulse, which occurs once per revolution. The index signal is ungated to the AB signal.
Timing:
- The points a, b, c, d on the waveform are approximately 1/4 of the period (T) apart, with a tolerance of ±1/8T.
- The pulse width (h) for the A/B channels is approximately 1T or 1/2T (with a tolerance of ±1/4T), or alternatively 1/4T (with a tolerance of ±1/8T).
Waveform Description: The output consists of two main square wave signals (A and B) that are phase-shifted by 90 electrical degrees relative to each other. A third signal (Z) provides a single pulse per shaft revolution, acting as a reference point. The signals are shown as alternating high and low states over time, with specific timing relationships defining the encoder's resolution and accuracy.
Signal Interpretation:
- Viewed from the encoder shaft end, rotation in a clockwise direction generates a specific sequence of signal changes on channels A and B.
- The index signal (Z) is a single pulse that aligns with a specific rotational position.
