Safety Instructions for Sabre Saws
- Hold the tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing work where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring. Contact with a live wire can energize metal parts and cause electric shock.
- Secure the workpiece with clamps or a vise. Holding the workpiece by hand or against your body can lead to instability and loss of control.
- Keep hands away from the sawing area. Do not reach under the workpiece.
- Only guide the tool against the workpiece when it is switched on. Kickback can occur if the cutting tool jams in the workpiece.
- Ensure the footplate is always in contact with the workpiece during sawing. This prevents blade jamming and loss of control.
- Switch off the tool after completing the work and wait for the saw blade to stop completely before removing it from the cut. This prevents kickback and allows safe storage.
- Use only undamaged, perfect saw blades. Bent or dull blades can break, affect the cut, or cause kickback.
- Do not brake the saw blade by pressing sideways after switching off. This can damage or break the blade, or cause kickback.
- Secure the material firmly. Do not support the workpiece with your hand or foot. Do not touch objects or the ground with the running saw.
- Use suitable detection devices to locate hidden supply lines or ask the local utility company. Contact with electrical lines can cause electric shock and fire; contact with gas lines can cause explosion. Damaging a water pipe can cause property damage and electric shock.
- Hold the power tool firmly with both hands and ensure a secure stance.
- Secure the workpiece. A workpiece held by clamping devices or a vise is held more securely than by hand.
- Wait until the power tool has come to a standstill before putting it down. The cutting tool can jam and lead to loss of control.
- Do not saw materials (e.g., lead-based paints, lacquers, or asbestos-containing material) whose dust is hazardous to health.
Vibration and Noise Reduction:
- Limit usage time, use low-vibration operating modes, and wear PPE to reduce vibration and noise effects.
- Use the product only as intended and described.
- Ensure the product is in good condition and well-maintained.
- Use the correct saw blades and ensure they are in good condition.
- Hold the product securely by the handles.
- Maintain the product according to instructions and ensure adequate lubrication.
- Plan your work to distribute high-vibration tasks over a longer period.
Emergency Response:
- Familiarize yourself with the manual and safety instructions.
- Stay alert and act quickly to prevent serious injuries or damage.
- Switch off the product immediately in case of malfunction and remove the battery pack. Have it checked and repaired by a qualified technician before reuse.
Residual Risks:
- Health damage from vibration emissions if used for extended periods without proper guidance or maintenance.
- Personal injury and property damage from defective cutting tools or sudden impact with hidden objects.
- Risk of injury and property damage from flying objects.
