V-BOT: My 5-in-1 Robot Mission Guide

Wheels

Assemble the wheels for your V-BOT. The diagram shows the V-BOT robot base and separate wheel components, which are small pieces that attach to the base.

Gripper Arms

Attach the gripper arms to your V-BOT. The diagram shows the V-BOT robot body and separate gripper arm components that attach to the robot's arms.

Large Feet

Assemble the large feet for your V-BOT. The diagram shows the V-BOT robot base and separate large foot components, appearing as larger attachments for the robot's legs.

Bulldozer Hands

Attach the bulldozer hands to your V-BOT. The diagram shows the V-BOT robot body and separate bulldozer hand components, which are wider attachments for the robot's arms.

General Assembly & Controls

The robot has an ON/OFF switch with volume control:

Steering Lock

Unlock the steering lock to allow V-BOT to move in different directions. A close-up diagram shows a small lever or switch on the robot's body, labeled 'Unlock steering' with an arrow indicating movement. This mechanism allows the robot to move freely.

Note: Engage the steering lock [⚙️] for specific missions.

Mission 1: Asteroid Escape

Asteroids are approaching! Observe V-BOT's movements and repeat them using the arrow buttons to dodge the asteroids.

Step 1: Observe Movements

Observe and remember V-BOT's movements. The diagram shows V-BOT moving forward with yellow arrows indicating its path. A small inset shows the steering lock being engaged.

Note: Engage the steering lock [⚙️].

Step 2: Mimic Movements

Use the arrow buttons ⬆️ ⬇️ ⬅️ ➡️ to mimic the movements, one movement at a time. The diagram shows a hand pressing a directional arrow button on V-BOT.

Step 3: Complete Rounds

Repeat all of V-BOT's movements to complete a round. Each subsequent round adds one movement. Complete all rounds to succeed in the mission. The diagram shows V-BOT completing a sequence of movements.

Mission 2: Frozen Lake

V-BOT is on the ice! It must walk carefully to reach the other side safely.

Step 1: Listen for Number

Listen to the number I say when V-BOT has stopped. The diagram shows V-BOT standing still.

Step 2: Clap Number of Times

Clap the number of times I say. The diagram shows a hand shown clapping, with numbers 1, 2, 3 indicated. The word "Drie" (Three) is visible.

Step 3: V-BOT Moves

V-BOT will take the number of steps you clapped. If you clap correctly, V-BOT will continue carefully. If you clap the wrong number of times, the ice will break under its feet, and the mission will fail. The diagram shows V-BOT taking steps.

Continue playing until V-BOT successfully crosses the frozen sea!

Mission 3: Lava River

Avoid dangerous fireballs while V-BOT attempts to cross the lava river via the rope.

Step 1: Setup Rope

Attach the rope to 2 opposite points. Ask an adult for help. Then hang V-BOT on the rope to play the mission. The diagram shows V-BOT with a rope attached between two points.

Step 2: Avoid Fireballs

Listen carefully! When you hear the lava alarm ⚠️, move your hand in front of V-BOT's sensor so it changes direction before it is hit by a fireball! The diagram shows V-BOT with a sensor, a hand moving in front of it, and a warning symbol.

Step 3: Mission Success

The mission is successful when V-BOT has managed to dodge all fireballs. The diagram shows V-BOT successfully crossing the river.

Mission 4: Wall Breaker

Obstacles are blocking the way! Get V-BOT ready to break through the obstacles. Full power ahead!

Step 1: Place Target

Place a target on the ground. Get V-BOT ready with its bulldozer hands facing the target. The diagram shows V-BOT with bulldozer hands facing a stack of cups. The text "*Bekers niet inbegrepen." (*Cups not included.) is present.

(Place the target further away for more challenge!)

Step 2: Engage Steering Lock

Note: Engage the steering lock [⚙️].

Step 3: Push Target

Press the circle button ? when V-BOT is ready to push over the target. The diagram shows a hand pressing the circle button on V-BOT.

Mission Completion

Can V-BOT push over all the objects? You can push something over three times during this mission.

Mission 5: The Mine Cart

A mine cart full of precious ore! Find the mine cart, hook it up, and bring the precious ore back to base!

Step 1: Position Mine Cart

Place the mine cart at a distance from V-BOT. Get V-BOT ready with its mine cart hook facing the mine cart. The diagram shows V-BOT with its mine cart hook extended, facing a mine cart.

Step 2: Engage Steering Lock

Note: Engage the steering lock [⚙️].

Step 3: Pick Up Mine Cart

Press the circle button ? when V-BOT is ready to pick up the mine cart! The diagram shows a hand pressing the circle button on V-BOT.

Mission Completion

When the mine cart is coupled, V-BOT will bring it back to you. You have three attempts during this mission to pick up the mine cart.
