Installation

Warning: PCIe Cards can be damaged by static electricity. Ensure that the installer is properly grounded before opening the computer case or touching the PCIe to M.2 Adapter Card. The installer should wear an Anti-Static Strap. If an Anti-Static Strap is not available, discharge static electricity by touching a large grounded metal surface for several seconds. Only handle the PCIe to M.2 Adapter Card by its edges and do not touch the gold connectors.

Note: Consult the computer/motherboard documentation for details on enabling and configuring PCIe Bifurcation.

Install the M.2 Storage Drives

1. Place the M.2 drive next to the adapter and identify the drive installation holes that match the drive's length. If standoffs and installation screws are already in the correct position, proceed to step 5.
2. On the front of the M.2 Adapter Card, use pliers to hold the standoff in place while using a Phillips Head Screwdriver to remove the screw located on the back of the adapter.
3. Use the Phillips Head Screwdriver to remove the screw on the front of the M.2 Adapter Card.
4. Remove the standoff.
5. Repeat steps 2-3 to remove any remaining standoffs and standoff installation screws as needed.
6. Install the standoff in the drive installation hole that matches the drive's length.
7. Gently slide the M.2 drive connector into the corresponding M.2 connector on the adapter card, and press the drive down until it is properly seated.
   Note: The M.2 connector on the drive is M-Keyed, ensuring it only fits M-Keyed M.2 storage devices.
8. Replace the standoff installation screw (removed in step 2) and tighten using a Phillips Head Screwdriver.
9. Insert the drive mounting screw through the drive slot and into the standoff, and use the Phillips Head Screwdriver to tighten the screw, securing the drive.
10. Repeat steps 1-8 to install the remaining drives.

Install the Card

1. Turn off the computer and disconnect the power cable and any peripheral devices (e.g., printers, external hard drives).
2. Remove the computer case cover.
   Note: Consult the computer's documentation for safe removal instructions.
3. Locate an open PCIe x16 slot and remove the corresponding metal cover plate from the rear of the computer case. This plate is usually attached with a single Phillips Head Screw. Save this screw for the next step.
4. Gently insert the PCIe to M.2 Adapter Card into the open PCIe x16 slot and fasten the bracket to the rear of the computer case using the Phillips Head Screw saved in step 3.
5. Replace the computer case cover removed in step 2.
6. Reconnect all peripheral devices disconnected in step 1.
7. Reconnect the power cable to the rear of the computer.
