Getting Started with Your Orbit Timer

This guide provides basic installation and programming instructions for your Orbit Timer. For more detailed information, please download the full manual at www.orbitonline.com.

Required Tools:

• Phillips Screwdriver
• Wire Strippers

1. Select Location

Choose a clean, dry location out of direct sunlight. Ensure at least a 9-inch clearance for the swing door.

2. Mount Timer

Use the included mounting template to mark screw locations. Hang the timer on a screw using the keyhole slot. Secure with another screw through a pre-formed mounting hole.

3. Connect Sprinkler Valves to Timer Wires

Connect one wire from each valve to the common wire leading to the timer (usually white). Connect the other wire from each valve to one of the colored wires leading to the timer. Do not connect to the power source until after wiring the valves.

4. Connect Valve Wire to Terminal

Ensure only one valve is connected to each terminal (station).

5. Connect to Electrical Power

Warning: Orbit recommends using a licensed electrical contractor for outdoor wiring. Check state and local codes.

6. Activate Battery

Remove the plastic strip to activate the pre-installed CR2032 lithium battery. This battery retains the program during power loss and should be replaced annually.

Battery Warning: Chemical Burn Hazard. Keep batteries away from children. Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is swallowed.

7. Program Timer

• Set Current Time: Turn dial to SET CLOCK, use +/- buttons to set time, press ENTER.
• Set Date: Turn dial to SET DATE, use +/- buttons to set year, press ENTER to set month and day.
• Set Start Time: Turn dial to START TIME, use +/- buttons to set desired start time, press ENTER.
• Select Watering Duration: Turn dial to RUN TIME, use +/- buttons to set duration for each station, press ENTER or ARROW to move between stations.
• Set Watering Days/Interval: Turn dial to HOW OFTEN, use ARROWS to select watering days and press ENTER. For odd/even or interval watering, refer to the full manual.
• Set Auto Mode: Turn dial to AUTO. Your timer is now programmed.

8. Additional Features

• Rain Delay: Turn dial to AUTO, press RAIN DELAY, use +/- to select 24, 48, or 72 hours, press ENTER. Press CLEAR to cancel.
• Manual Watering: Turn dial to AUTO, press MANUAL. To water all stations, press ENTER. To water a specific station, use ARROWS to select the station, use +/- to set duration, press ENTER. Press CLEAR to stop manual watering.

Backup Battery

A CR2032 lithium battery is required to maintain your program during AC power loss. Annual replacement is recommended.

Note: The battery alone does not operate the valves; the timer transformer must be connected to an AC power source.

Warranty and Statement

Orbit Irrigation Products, Inc. warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship for six years from the date of purchase. Orbit will replace defective parts free of charge under normal use and service. Proof of purchase is required. Orbit is not responsible for consequential or incidental costs or damages. To exercise your warranty, return the unit to your dealer with a copy of the sales receipt.
