Product Description
Front View: Features include Main Display, Guest Display (contactless area), 5-megapixel camera, Light Sensor, Power Indicator, Printer Cover Button, Fingerprint, Fingerprint Indicator, and Magnetic Card/ IC Card Slot.
Left Side View: Features include Power Button, Volume Buttons, USB, Audio Jack, Anti-theft Hole, Speaker hole, and DC port.
Right Side View: Features include Nameplate Sticker, Bar Code Sticker, SIM Card Slot, and SD Card Slot.
Rear View: Features include Front Rubber Foot, Base Contact, Strap, Battery Cover, Rear Rubber Foot, and Power Indicator.

The snap-in fit battery cover is on the underside of the E600. It is intended for occasional use by operators, such as for installing SIM and SD cards. Correct removal and reinstallation are permitted following these instructions:
To remove battery cover: Hold the sides of the E600 and push the button in the direction shown to open the battery cover.
To reinstall battery cover: Properly align the battery cover and press it to secure.

To install the paper: 1. Press the printer cover button and open the cover. 2. Insert the paper roll with the end facing up and extending out of the E600. 3. Gently snap the printer cover closed.
To tear the paper, press the paper downward along the cutter and pull it to the left or right along the cutting edge.

- Magnetic stripe card: Place the magnetic stripe face down. Keep the card perpendicular to the main display. Swipe the card through the magnetic card slot at a constant speed.
- IC card: Place the IC chip face up. Insert the IC card into the card slot and push it to the end.
- Contactless card: Place the contactless card on the center of the payment module screen.
SIM Cards and SD Card
SIM Card
To insert SIM card: Open the battery cover, remove the battery, and insert the SIM card into the slot as indicated by the label. To remove SIM card: Push the card further into the slot until it protrudes slightly, then push again to remove.

Device Location
Locate the device on a countertop, desktop, or tabletop. Keep it away from direct sunlight, excessive dust, moisture, and heat. Avoid placing it near electrical devices that might introduce interference, such as microwave ovens or blow dryers.
Cleaning the Device
WARNING: Do not use industrial strength or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage or scratch the screen. ⚠️ Do not immerse the tablet in water or any liquid. Do not spray water or cleaner into card readers or ports.
- To clean the screen: Apply distilled water or mild glass cleaner onto a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe the screen.
- To clean the device body: Apply distilled water or plastic-safe cleaner onto a soft, lint-free cloth and wipe gently.
Installation and Usage Tips
- Avoid exposing the device to excessively hot, humid, dusty, or strong electromagnetic environments.
- Do not vibrate, shake, or drop the device.
- Do not plug or unplug any part of the device while it is powered on, as this may cause damage to internal circuits.
- There is a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect type.
- Please contact PAX technical support for assistance with the device.
Caution: Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. In a domestic environment, this product may cause radio interference; in such cases, the user may be required to take adequate measures.
Power Management
The E600 can be powered in two ways:
- By plugging the power adapter and cord into the DC port on the E600.
- If a base station is included, by plugging the power adapter with cord into the charging station port and seating the E600 on its charging base.
Power On/Off
- Power On: Press and hold the Power button for three seconds until the main screen displays normally.
- Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for three seconds until the shutdown menu displays, select "Power off", and the E600 turns off after a few seconds.
Charging Indicators
- Red indicator: Device is charging.
- Green indicator: Charging is complete.
- Red and green indicators flashing alternately: Charging problem.
Ports
Terminal Ports
- AC Power: Used to connect the power supply to the E600.
- Micro-USB: Used for downloads and communication.
- Audio Jack: Allows the hearing impaired to connect an assistive listening device to the terminal.
Charging Base Ports
- Power: Used to connect power supply to the Communication Box.
- Cash Drawer (RJ11, 24V): Used to connect to the cash drawer.
- RS232 (RJ45): Used to connect to an external POS device or check reader.
- LAN: Used for bi-directional Ethernet connections using DSL or Cable.
- USB-OTG: Used for local terminal downloads or external peripherals.
Charging Base
To Use Charging Base:
- Place the E600 onto the Charging Base.
- The Charging Base is magnetized to hold the Pogo pins in contact with the underside of the E600. If properly aligned, the E600 and Charging Base are held in place by magnets.
Note: The E600 can fit onto the Charging Base in the opposite direction, but the Pogo pins will not make contact, and the E600 will not charge.
To Install the Charging Base onto the Counter:
- Select a location convenient for both use and charging.
- Clean the countertop, removing all dirt and grease.
- Peel away the clear plastic protector from the underside of the Charging Base to reveal the sticky black pad.
- Press the Charging Base into position to secure.
- To remove the Charging Base (if required), gently grasp the sides of the base and pull up from the counter. Do not pull the cord to the Communication Box to release the base, as this may damage the cable.
