1. Overview

The DOUT16B-2 Digital Output Module is an expansion module featuring 16 auxiliary digital output channels. The status of the expansion module is transmitted to the DOUT16B-2 by the main control board via RS485 communication.

3. Module Address

This module features a 4-bit in-line DIP switch providing 16 coding statuses, corresponding to module addresses from 100 to 115. When a switch is turned ON, its status is 1. The module address is calculated using the formula: Module Address = 1A + 2B + 4C + 8D + 100. For example, if ABCD is 0000, the module address is 100. If ABCD is 1000, the address is 101. If ABCD is 0100, the address is 102. If ABCD is 1111, the address is 115.

4. Terminal Diagram

The DOUT16B-2 module features a panel with various terminals for power, communication, and output connections. The front panel includes DIP switches (A, B, C, D) for module address configuration, a POWER indicator, and RS485 communication indicators.

The rear panel provides screw terminals for connections. The following table details each terminal:

5. Communication Configuration and Modbus Communication Protocol

5.1. RS485 Communication Port

The DOUT16B-2 is an expansion output module with an RS485 communication port, following the Modbus-RTU communication protocol.

Slave address is 64H (decimal 100), read 10H (decimal 16) status of starting address 64H (decimal 100).

The value of status 07-00 is indicated as 01H in Hex, and 00000001 in binary. Status 07 is the high-order byte, 00 is the low-order byte. The state of status 07-00 is OFF-OFF-OFF-OFF-OFF-OFF-OFF-ON.

Slave address is 64H (decimal 100), starting address is 1 data of 64H (decimal 100) (2 bytes per data).

Slave address is 64H (decimal 100), starting address is one status of 64H (decimal 100). Set 64H unit as 1.
