If the temperature symbol ?️ lights up during riding, the scooter has overheated. Stop and turn off the scooter. Wait approximately 5 minutes for it to cool down before continuing to ride.

4. Charging

Open the rubber plug. Connect the charging connector. Close and secure the rubber plug after charging.

Your scooter is fully charged when the charger's LED indicator changes from red (charging) to green. Do not charge the scooter for extended periods. Do not connect the charger if the charging port is wet. Cover the charging port when not in use. If the scooter will not be used for a long time, charge it every two months to prevent battery damage.

5. Learning to Ride

Safety First: ALWAYS wear a helmet ⛑️ and protective gear to prevent head injury and injury, as illustrated.

Start by placing one foot on the footboard and pushing off the ground with the other. Once the electric scooter is moving, place both feet on the footboard and press the accelerator. Acceleration begins when the speed exceeds 5 km/h.

Release the accelerator to slow down gradually. To brake suddenly, press the brake lever.

When turning, lean your body in the direction of travel and gently turn the handlebars.

6. Safety Risks

  • Do not ride in the rain ?️.
  • When riding over speed bumps, elevator thresholds, or uneven surfaces, maintain a medium or low speed (5-10 km/h). Bend your knees slightly to adapt better to these surfaces.
  • Be aware of low doors, elevators, and other overhead obstacles.
  • Do not accelerate when going downhill.
  • If pushing the scooter, do not accelerate.
  • Always avoid obstacles.
  • Do not hang bags or other heavy loads on the handlebars.
  • Always keep both feet on the footboard.

7. Dangerous Actions

  • Do not use the scooter on public roads.
  • Do not ride in traffic lanes or residential areas where both vehicles and pedestrians are permitted.
  • Do not make sharp turns at high speeds.
  • Do not ride through puddles deeper than 2 cm.
  • Do not ride with another person, including children.
  • Do not step on the rear fender.
  • Do not touch the disc brake.
  • Do not let go of the handlebars.
  • Do not attempt to ride up or down stairs, or jump over obstacles.

8. Safety Instructions

The GoGEN S701 electric scooter is intended for leisure. However, when used in public spaces, it is considered a vehicle and is subject to all risks faced by vehicles. For safety reasons, follow the instructions in this manual, traffic regulations, and laws set by state and regulatory bodies.

It is important to understand that risks cannot be entirely eliminated, as others may violate traffic rules and ride carelessly. You could become involved in a traffic accident similar to walking or cycling. The faster the scooter travels, the longer it takes to stop. On smooth surfaces, the scooter may slip, lose balance, and cause a fall. Therefore, it is crucial to be cautious, maintain proper speed and distance, especially in unfamiliar environments.

Respect pedestrian priority. Alert them when riding, especially children. If following pedestrians, ring the bell to warn them and slow down to pass on their left (in countries where vehicles drive on the right). When riding on sidewalks, stay to the right at low speeds. Maintain the lowest possible speed or dismount.

Carefully follow the safety instructions in this manual. The company is not responsible for any financial losses, physical injuries, accidents, legal disputes, or other conflicts resulting from actions that violate user instructions.

Do not lend your scooter to anyone who cannot operate it. If lending to friends, be responsible and ensure they know how to use it and have the necessary safety equipment.

Check the scooter before each use. If you notice loose parts, a low battery warning, excessive wear, unusual sounds, malfunctions, or any other abnormal condition, do not ride.

9. Folding and Unfolding

To fold the electric scooter, turn it off, hold the handlebar stem, and pull the folding lock upwards. Hook the handlebar stem hook onto the rear fender hook. To unfold, hold the rear fender hook, unhook the handlebar stem hook, hold the tube vertically, and secure the folding mechanism.

Carry the scooter by holding the handlebar stem with one or both hands.

10. Repair and Maintenance

Cleaning and Storage

If dirt appears on the scooter body, wipe it with a damp cloth.

Notes: Do not clean the scooter with alcohol, gasoline, petroleum, or other aggressive and volatile chemical solvents, as this may damage it. Do not wash the scooter with high-pressure water. During cleaning, ensure the scooter is turned off, the charging cable is disconnected, and the rubber plug is closed, as water ingress can cause electric shock or other serious problems. If you are not using the scooter, store it indoors in a dry and cool place. Do not leave it outdoors for extended periods. Excessive sunlight, overheating, and cold temperatures shorten battery life.

Battery Maintenance

  • Use original batteries. Using other models or brands may cause safety issues.
  • Do not touch the battery. Do not disassemble or puncture the cover. Ensure the battery is kept away from metal objects to prevent short circuits, which could cause battery damage or even injury and death.
  • Use the original power adapter to prevent possible damage or fire.
  • Improper handling of used batteries can severely harm the environment. To protect the natural environment, follow local regulations for proper battery disposal.
  • Fully charge the battery after each use to prolong its lifespan.

Storage

  • Store the scooter in a cool and dry place with temperatures between -10 and 40°C. In extremely humid environments, condensation or water accumulation inside the scooter can quickly damage the battery.
  • When using the scooter daily, try to prevent complete battery discharge. If the battery is low, charge it as soon as possible.
  • Charge the scooter every two months to maintain battery life.

Brake Adjustment

If the brakes feel too tight, loosen the screws on the disc brake pressure plate using an M5 hex key, slightly loosen the brake cable to shorten its exposed end, and then tighten the pressure plate screws. If the brakes feel loose and do not brake effectively, loosen the pressure plate screws, pull the brake cable to slightly lengthen its exposed end, and then tighten the screws.

Handlebar Wobble

If the front handlebar stem wobbles during riding, tighten the two screws on the folding mechanism using an M5 hex key.
