MSE / Pedal Initial Configuration
After connecting the MSE electric desoldering module, a setup window appears.
- Press "Setup" to configure the electric suction module.
- Select the desired module and pedal from the list, assigning connections (e.g., PD_a, PD_b).
- Select the tool port to link with the peripheral.
- Press Menu or Back to save changes. Configuration can be modified later via the peripherals menu.
Port Simultaneous Control
Real-time information for all ports can be viewed by pressing the tool image on the working screen.
Operation
JBC's soldering system offers efficient soldering with rapid tip temperature restoration, allowing for lower working temperatures and improved solder joint quality. Sleep and Hibernation modes further reduce tip temperature, extending tip life up to 5 times.
- Work: When the tool is removed from the stand, the tip heats to the selected temperature.
- Sleep: When the tool is in the stand, the temperature drops to the preset sleep temperature.
- Hibernation: After prolonged inactivity, power is cut, and the tip is maintained at ambient temperature.
Work Temperature: Adjust between 90-450°C using the '+' and '-' buttons on the screen.
Temperature Levels: Enable and adjust levels via Menu > Tools > Set temperature levels.
Sleep Delay: Set between 0-60 min or No Sleep via Menu > Tools.
Sleep Temperature: Adjust via Menu > Tools > Sleep Temperature.
Hibernation Delay: Set between 0-60 min or No Hibernation via Menu > Tools.
USB Connector and Firmware Update
Download Firmware: Download the JBC firmware update file from www.jbctools.com/software.html. Extract the .jpu file to the root directory of a USB-A flash drive (FAT32).
Connection: Connect the USB-A flash drive containing the firmware to the control unit. A notification will appear, and a specific symbol will be displayed.
If the DME station does not detect the USB drive, use a partition software.
Installation: In the emergent window, press "Install". If the notification is not visible, tap the notification.
Update Process
Do not turn off the unit during the update. The screen may turn on and off automatically. The installation is complete when the update bar is full and the work screen is displayed.
If the process stops for an extended period (over 30 min), restart the station and wait for the installation to complete.
Checking Firmware Version
- Select "Menu" (1), then the "Station" icon (2).
- Select "Information" (3) and press (4) to check the firmware version.
Maintenance
Wait for the equipment to cool down before performing maintenance or storage.
- Clean the station screen with a glass cleaner or damp cloth.
- Use a damp cloth to clean the housing and tool. Alcohol is only for cleaning metal components.
- Periodically check that the metal components of the tool and stand are clean for proper tool detection.
- Keep the tip surface clean and tinned before storage to prevent oxidation. Oxidized and dirty surfaces reduce heat transfer.
- Periodically check all cables and tubes.
- Replace blown fuses as follows:
- Remove the fuse holder and extract the fuse. Use a tool if necessary.
- Insert the new fuse into the fuse holder and reinstall it in the station.
- Replace defective or damaged parts exclusively with original JBC components.
- Repairs should only be performed by authorized JBC technical service.
Safety
Follow these safety guidelines to protect your health and prevent electric shock, injury, fire, or explosions.
- Do not use the equipment for purposes other than soldering or reworking, as incorrect use may cause fire.
- Connect the power cable only to approved outlets. Ensure the station is properly grounded before use. Disconnect the power cable by pulling the connector, not the cable.
- Do not work on live components or powered PCBs.
- Place the tool in the stand when not in use to activate Hibernation mode. The tip, metal part of the tool, and stand can be hot even when the station is off; handle with care.
- Do not leave the equipment unattended while operating.
- Do not cover ventilation grilles; heat can ignite flammable materials.
- Avoid contact of flux with skin or eyes, as it can cause irritation.
- Be cautious of fumes produced during soldering.
- Keep your workspace clean and organized. Use appropriate safety glasses and gloves to prevent injuries.
- Be careful with liquid tin residue; contact with skin can cause burns.
- This appliance can be used by persons 8 years and older, and by persons with reduced mobility or limited physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, provided they are supervised or instructed on safe use and understand the risks. Children should not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and maintenance should not be carried out by unsupervised children.
