Note: 'O' indicates compatibility. 'X' indicates that pedal P405 cannot be directly connected to JBC control units and requires a module.

Working Screen

The JBC DME user interface is simple and intuitive, facilitating quick access to soldering station parameters.

Menu Screen

Configure tool settings for each port.

"Utility Tools" Submenu

Instant Graph: Displays a detailed graph of tip temperature and power output during the soldering process, aiding in analysis. This helps you decide how to adjust the soldering process or which tip to use for optimal soldering quality.

Export Graph: Save soldering process analysis graphs in CSV format via USB-A interface to a flash drive.

Files: Supports playing video files from USB devices. Requires AVI format with a resolution of 320x240px.

Microscope: Supports connecting a microscope via USB. The corresponding image will be displayed on the station's screen. (*Compatible models: Dino Lite AM2111 and AM2011).

Calculator: Provides calculator functions and environment.

Unit Conversion: Allows unit conversion, for example, converting Celsius (°C) values to Fahrenheit (°F).

System Notifications: The following icons will be displayed on the status bar:

MSE/Pedal Initial Setup

When connected to an electric desoldering module (MSE-A), a window will pop up.

Setup Window:

Instructions:

  1. Press "Setup" in the pop-up window to configure the electric suction module.
  2. Select the module from the peripheral connection list. Note that your first connection will be marked as "a", the second as "b", and so on (e.g., MS_a, MS_b...). Pedals operate similarly (e.g., PD_a...).
  3. Select the tool port to link to the peripheral.
  4. Press "Menu" (☰) or "Back" (↩️) to save changes. After setup, you can access the "Peripherals" menu to change module settings.

Synchronized Port Control

View real-time information for all ports by tapping the tool image on the working screen.

Tool Status: Tip temperature, sleep mode, or hibernation mode.

Tap any port to display it on the working screen.

Operating Procedure: JBC Efficient Soldering System

This innovative technology allows for rapid tip temperature recovery, enabling users to work at lower temperatures while achieving superior soldering quality. Furthermore, this soldering system supports Sleep Mode and Hibernation Mode. In these modes, the tip temperature is further reduced, increasing tip lifespan by up to 5 times.

  1. Work Mode: When you pick up the tool from the stand, the tip automatically heats up to the selected temperature.
  2. Sleep Mode: When the tool is placed in the stand, the temperature automatically drops to the preset sleep temperature.
  3. Hibernation Mode: After a longer period of inactivity, the station automatically powers off, and the tool cools down to room temperature.

Temperature: Adjust temperature from 90°C to 450°C by tapping '+' or '-' on the screen.

Temperature Levels: Tap Menu > Tools > Temperature Levels and enable "ON". Temperature levels can be adjusted via Menu > Tools > Settings > Temperature Levels.

Sleep Delay: Tap Menu > Tools and select the sleep delay from 0 to 60 minutes, or select "No Sleep".

Sleep Temperature: Tap Menu > Tools and select the sleep temperature, then adjust the temperature value.

Hibernation Delay: Tap Menu > Tools and select the hibernation delay from 0 to 60 minutes, or select "No Hibernation".

USB Connector and Firmware Update

Download: JBC Firmware Update Files

Download JBC firmware update files from www.jbctools.com/software.html, which include the latest update package. Extract the .jpu file to the root folder of a USB drive (USB-A, FAT32 format). It is recommended that the USB drive does not contain any other files.

Connecting USB Drive to Control Unit:

Connect the USB drive containing the latest update file and update notification to the control unit. This symbol ⬆️ will appear automatically. If the DME station does not detect the USB drive, use USB partitioning software.

Installation: JBC Firmware Update File

In the pop-up window, click "Install". If it does not appear, tap the notification.

Update Process

During the update process, do not turn off the control unit; the device may turn on and off automatically. The installation is complete when the "Welcome" pop-up window appears, followed by the working screen. If the process remains stalled for an extended period (over 30 minutes), reset the soldering station and wait for the installation to complete successfully.

Check Firmware Version

Verify successful installation of new firmware using the following steps:

  1. Select "Menu" (☰) (1), then select the "Station" (?) icon (2) on the screen.
  2. Select "Information" (ℹ️) (3), then press (4) to view the firmware version.

Maintenance and Care

Before performing maintenance or storage, always wait for the equipment to cool down.

Replacing a Blown Fuse:

  1. Remove the fuse holder and take out the blown fuse. Use a tool to pry it out if necessary.
  2. Insert the new fuse into the fuse holder and place it back into the soldering station.

Replace any defective or damaged parts. Use only genuine JBC spare parts. Repairs should only be performed by JBC authorized technical personnel.

Safety Precautions

⚠️ Mandatory safety guidelines to prevent electric shock, injury, fire, or explosion.
