Product Overview

Thank you for choosing a Hama product. This document provides operating instructions and safety information for the Hama Power Strip. It is designed for private, non-commercial use and protects against mains-related overvoltage caused by switching processes or distant lightning strikes.

Safety Instructions

General Safety Notes

• Intended for private, non-commercial, indoor use only.
• Use only for its intended purpose.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Protect from dirt, moisture, and overheating; use in dry environments only.
• Operate only with the specified power supply network.
• Use on a 16 A fused mains socket with a properly installed protective conductor.
• Do not connect to extension cables, power strips, or adapters.
• Lay all cables to prevent tripping hazards.
• Do not bend or crush the cable.
• Never connect multiple units in series.
• Disconnect by pulling the plug, never the cable.
• Do not operate if visibly damaged.
• Increased duty of care required for commercial use.
• Observe accident prevention regulations.
• Do not use near heaters or heat sources, or in direct sunlight.
• Use only in moderate climatic conditions.
• Do not operate outside power limits.
• Do not use in areas where electronic devices are prohibited.
• Avoid moist environments and splashes.
• Do not drop or expose to major shocks.
• Do not modify the product; doing so voids the warranty.
• Keep packaging material away from children (suffocation risk).
• Dispose of packaging material according to local regulations.

Risk of Electric Shock

• Do not open or operate if damaged.
• Do not use if AC adapter, cable, or mains cable is damaged.
• Do not attempt self-service or repair; consult qualified experts.

Connection

Warning: ⚠️ Only operate the product from an approved and accessible mains socket.

Disconnect the product using the On/Off switch or by unplugging the power cord.

For multi-socket strips, ensure total power consumption does not exceed the strip's rating.

Disconnect if not using for a prolonged period.

All connected devices must be switched off before connecting. The surge protector connects between the consumer and an earthed socket. The indicator light for the surge protector should illuminate when operational.

Warning: ⚠️ If the indicator light does not illuminate after switching on, the surge protector is defective and must be replaced.

Care and Maintenance

Note: ℹ️ Disconnect from power before cleaning or long-term storage.

• Clean with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
• Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
• Ensure no water enters the product.

Insurance Cover

Product liability insurance covers up to 20 million euros for personal injury and property damage, provided proper product use and proof that damage is attributable to non-compliance with the protective function.
