This document provides essential information for setting up and operating your Speed Wi-Fi HOME L02 device.

Main LED Indicators
LEDs indicate product status:
- Signal indicator:
- Off: Out of service area or no au IC card inserted.
- On (1-4 bars): LTE/WiMAX 2+ connected.
- Mode/Update indicator:
- On: High Speed Mode.
- On: High Speed Plus Area Mode.
- Blinking: Auto Mode Settings ON or Software update detected.
- Status indicator:
- On: Power on, acquiring WAN IP, or normally connected.
- Blinking: au IC card error, PIN locked, or connection error (e.g., APN settings).
- On: Connection error due to being out of service area.
- Data Usage indicator:
- On: Not exceeded specified data usage limit.
- On: Exceeded specified data usage limit.

Button Operations
Switching Communication Mode: Press and hold the Mode button for approximately two seconds to switch between High Speed Mode and High Speed Plus Area Mode.
Updating Software: When the Mode/Update indicator blinks (software update detected), press the Update button for approximately one second to start the update. The indicator will blink during the update. It will turn solid on when complete.
Preparation
Attaching au IC Card
Your phone number is stored on the au IC card. The product is compatible with au Nano IC Card 04 LE. Note: The product does not support making or receiving calls.
Important: Do not touch the IC (metal) part, insert in the correct direction, and do not force insertion/removal. Turn off the product's power before attaching/removing the card.
- Open the Nano IC Card slot cover by pulling the concave part.
- Insert the au IC card with the IC (metal) side facing up, aligning the notch, until it clicks.
- Align and gently press the Nano IC Card slot cover to close.
To remove: Gently push the card until it clicks, release, and pull out.
Turning the Power On
- Insert the Speed Wi-Fi HOME AC Adapter's power plug into a 100V AC outlet.
- Connect the AC adapter's DC plug to the product's power terminal. Ensure it is inserted fully and straight.
For Wi-Fi setting copy: Turn on the power while pressing the WPS button.
Connecting Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi®)
You can connect wireless devices using one of the following methods:
- Wi-Fi setting copy
- Using the "HUAWEI HiLink" app
- Manual settings
- WPS connection
Connecting via Ethernet Cable (Sample)
A PC can be connected using the included Ethernet cable. Wireless LAN and LAN connections can be used simultaneously, supporting up to 42 devices in total.
Setting Communication Mode (WAN)
The product supports data communication via WiMAX 2+ or LTE. You can select from:

Useful Features of Speed Wi-Fi HOME L02
- Auto Mode Settings: Automatically switches from High Speed Plus Area Mode to High Speed Mode when data usage reaches a set limit. Configured via the Speed Wi-Fi HOME setting tool under "Settings" > "WAN Settings" > "Auto Mode Settings".
- Data Usage Counter: Tracks data usage per mode and notifies when limits are exceeded. Configured via the Speed Wi-Fi HOME setting tool under "Settings" > "WAN Settings" > "Data Usage Counter". Usage is an estimate and may differ from actual usage.
- "HUAWEI HiLink" App: Install on your smartphone to connect by scanning a QR code. Allows checking product status and setting functions. Download via QR code or app stores.
- Best Position: Use the "Best Position" feature in the HUAWEI HiLink app to check detailed signal strength at your product's location.
- Wi-Fi Setting Copy Feature: Copies Wi-Fi settings (SSID, password) from a previous router to the product, simplifying device reconnection. Requires WPS on the old router.
- 5GHz Preferred: Automatically switches to the 5 GHz band when its radio wave condition is good, as it is less prone to interference than the 2.4 GHz band. Configured via the Speed Wi-Fi HOME setting tool under "Settings" > "LAN Settings" > "Security Settings 2.4GHz" > "5GHz Preferred".
Connecting with a WPS Compatible Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi®) Device
Press the WPS button for over approximately one second to initiate WPS connection for 2.4 GHz/5 GHz bands. Press again to stop.
Resetting the Product to Factory Default
With the product powered on, press the RESET button with a fine-tipped object for over approximately two seconds to reset all settings to factory defaults. Use with caution.
Checking Own Phone Number
Your phone number can be viewed on the Login screen of the Speed Wi-Fi HOME setting tool under "My Phone Number".
Activating Speed Wi-Fi HOME Setting Tool
Access the setting tool via a web browser on a PC connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Use "SSID1" for Wi-Fi connection.
- Turn on the product.
- Connect your wireless LAN device to the product via Wi-Fi.
- Open a web browser and enter "http://speedwifi.home".
- On the Login screen, select "English" for language, enter username "admin", and the password (found on the main unit's label).
- Follow prompts for automatic update function and 5GHz preferred settings. A password change prompt will appear upon login. Choose "Change Now" or "Later".
Default login password: Found on the "初回ログインID/パスワード (Default log in ID/Password)" on the bottom of the main unit.
Connecting by Using Wi-Fi Setting Copy Feature
This feature copies Wi-Fi settings from your previous router to the Speed Wi-Fi HOME L02, allowing devices to connect without reconfiguring them. This requires WPS on your former router.
- Turn on the product while pressing the WPS button. Indicators will show a specific state (Status indicator blinking).
- Press the WPS button for over one second to start Wi-Fi setting copy. Indicators will show copying status (e.g., 5 GHz copying, 2.4 GHz copying).
- Perform the WPS function on your former router.
- Check the result via the Signal indicator:
- 2.4 GHz setting copy succeeded: Signal indicator shows specific pattern.
- 5 GHz setting copy succeeded: Signal indicator shows specific pattern.
- 2.4 GHz/5 GHz setting copy failed: Signal indicator shows specific pattern.
- If needed, repeat steps 2 and 3 for the other frequency band.
- After successful copying for both bands, indicators will show a final state, and the product will operate normally after three seconds.
- Turn off the Wi-Fi router that was previously used.

Compatible Devices: PCs, iPhones, iPod touch, iPads, smartphones, game consoles compatible with IEEE802.11a/b/g/n/ac wireless LAN (Wi-Fi®) standards. Windows PCs/Macs with LAN ports.

Included Stickers
The "Wi-Fi Initialization" sticker contains the default network name (SSID) and security key (password) for connecting wireless devices. It is essential for initial connection or after a reset. It can be attached to the included Quick Start Guide for safekeeping. SSID1 and password can also be found on the bottom of the main unit.
To check SSID2 information: Access the Speed Wi-Fi HOME setting tool, navigate to "Settings" > "LAN Settings" > "Security Settings 2.4GHz" or "Security Settings 5GHz", turn "SSID2 Module" to "On", and apply.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues such as inability to connect to the internet:
- Cannot connect wireless LAN (Wi-Fi®) devices:
- Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on the device.
- If WPS fails, try manual connection.
- If connection fails, check if "Wi-Fi PMF" is set to "On" in the setting tool ("Settings" > "LAN Settings" > "Security Settings 2.4GHz/5GHz") and turn it off if necessary.
- Internet connection fails:
- Verify you are within the service area.
- Try in a location with better signal reception.
- Wait and try again if the connection destination is busy.
- Check the product's internet connection status via the Speed Wi-Fi HOME setting tool.
- Communication stops intermittently:
- Check in a good reception area.
- Ensure the product and PC are correctly connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Restart the product if connected via Wi-Fi.
- If connected via Ethernet, disconnect and reconnect the cable. If issues persist, restart the PC and reconnect.
- Communication speed is slow:
- Check in a good reception area.
- Wait and try again if the connection destination is congested.
- If problems persist, try resetting the product or removing/reinserting the au IC card after powering off and on.

Connecting with a Smartphone using "HUAWEI HiLink" App
Install the "HUAWEI HiLink" app on your smartphone and scan the QR code to connect the product automatically. There are separate QR codes for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band connections.
- Use a QR code scanning app to install "HUAWEI HiLink" app. Download link: https://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/mobilewifiapp/download.html.
- Open the "HUAWEI HiLink" app, follow the initial guide to the device selection screen. Ensure your smartphone's Wi-Fi is enabled.
- Tap "3G/4G wireless routers" > "Later".
- Tap "Tools" > "Scan".
- Scan the QR code on the Wi-Fi Initialization sticker or the bottom of the main unit. Connection is complete when the Wi-Fi signal icon appears on the smartphone screen.
Note: Only the "HUAWEI HiLink" app can connect automatically via QR code. For inquiries about the app, contact the developer or visit https://consumer.huawei.com/jp/support/index.htm.
Connecting by Manual Setting
Connect devices to the product via Wi-Fi manually.
- Turn on the product.
- Enable the Wi-Fi function on your wireless LAN device.
- Select the product's SSID (e.g., SSID1) from the displayed network list.
- Enter the security key (password).
Connection confirmation will appear on the device. For subsequent connections, the device should connect automatically if set to do so.
