Important Information
Before proceeding with the firmware update, please download and print these instructions. It is crucial to follow all steps accurately and in the specified order.

Required Items
- Pioneer In-Dash AV receiver (DMH-WT3800NEX)
- A USB storage device with the following specifications:
- Minimum capacity of 512MB, formatted to FAT32 or NTFS.
- Must be blank, containing no other files.
Cautionary Notes
- Never turn off your unit or eject the USB storage device while the firmware update is in progress.
- The firmware update can only be performed when the vehicle is stopped and the parking brake is engaged.
Checking the Firmware Version
To determine if your unit requires a firmware update, follow these steps:
- From the Home Screen, swipe left to access the Source list page.
- Select the "Settings" icon.
- Scroll down the list and tap "System Information".
- Tap "Firmware Information".
- On the "Firmware Information" screen, check the current firmware version number and model name.
Downloading Firmware Files
Firmware update files can be downloaded from the Pioneer website. Visit Pioneer's Support/Downloads page to find the correct files for your product.
After downloading the zip file, extract its contents. The decompressed file will be used for the update.
Updating the Firmware
Follow these procedures to update your unit's firmware:
- Connect a blank, formatted USB storage device to your computer. Locate the correct firmware update file and copy it to the root folder of the USB device. Ensure no other files are present on the USB drive.
- Connect the USB storage device to the USB port on your Pioneer unit.
- Set the audio source to "OFF" on your unit.
- Navigate to the "Firmware Update" section within the system settings (refer to the steps for checking firmware version).
- Select "USB" as the update method.
- Touch "Continue" to initiate the data transfer mode.
- Read the "WARNING" message carefully and then touch "Start" to begin the update process. If an "ERROR" message appears, try using a different USB device.
- The update progress will be displayed on the screen. Do not disconnect the USB or interrupt the process.
- Once the update is complete, the display will show "It succeeded...". Safely disconnect the USB storage device.
- The product will reboot automatically. Do not interact with the unit during the reboot process. After rebooting, the screen will return to the main menu.
The firmware update is now complete.
