Introduction
Illuminate your gaming room with Razer Aether lighting. Powered by Razer Chroma™ RGB, they are customizable and controllable from a single convenient app: create the perfect ambiance for any scenario.

2. What You Need

- A PC / Laptop with Wi-Fi connectivity (Windows® 10 64-bit or later) or an iOS / Android device**
Razer Gamer Room App Configuration:
- iOS 16.4 / Android 9 Pie (or later) with Bluetooth connectivity**
- An internet connection for app installation
Razer Synapse Configuration:
- Windows® 10 64-bit (or later)
- An internet connection for software installation
**Bluetooth connectivity is required only for initial setup.

5. Getting Started
- Use the adhesive backing on the light strip to attach it to a clean, dry, and flat surface.
- Attach the appropriate AC plug for your country to the power adapter, connect it to the light strip's power port, and plug it into a wall outlet.
- Attach cables as needed using the cable organizer to manage your setup.
6. Lighting Customization
A. VIA MOBILE DEVICE USING RAZER GAMER ROOM APP (REQUIRED)
- Download the Razer Gamer Room app on your mobile device.
- Press the multi-function button to turn on the light strip. The status indicator will blink blue to signal synchronization mode.
- Launch the app, follow the on-screen instructions, and scan the Matter™ QR code on the light strip. The status indicator will turn solid green when connected.
ℹ️ Ensure your mobile device is on your preferred 2.4 GHz network.
You can now personalize the Razer Aether Light Strip via the Razer Gamer Room app.
B. VIA PC/LAPTOP USING RAZER SYNAPSE
ℹ️ Before proceeding, ensure the light strip is configured to your network (via the Razer Gamer Room app) and your PC is on the same network.
- Go to razer.com/synapse to download and launch Razer Synapse. Update if necessary. Creating a Razer ID is recommended but optional.
- Press the multi-function button to turn on the light strip. The status indicator will turn solid green when connected to your network.
- In Razer Synapse, click "Add Wi-Fi Device", choose "Gamer Room Devices", select your device, and follow the on-screen instructions.
ℹ️ You can also click on your avatar and select "Add another Wi-Fi device" from the list.
Update when prompted; Razer Synapse will configure the light strip. The Razer Aether Light Strip will appear in the Devices list.
You can now personalize the Razer Aether Light Strip via Razer Synapse.
RESYNC MODE REACTIVATION
Sync mode must be active to configure the light strip from the Razer Gamer Room app. If not synchronized, the light strip enters sync mode upon power-up. If the light strip is not synchronized after 5 minutes, sync mode will deactivate, and its status indicator will turn yellow. To reactivate sync mode, turn the light strip off and on again.
7. Using the Light Strip
ON/OFF
Press the multi-function button to turn the light strip on and off.
CHANGING THE LIGHTING EFFECT
When the light strip is on, hold down the multi-function button to cycle through colors (white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet), then release to set the chosen color.
ℹ️ This function is only available when the Razer Gamer Room app controls the light strip.
8. Factory Reset
A factory reset is necessary to connect the light strip to a new device.
- Cut off the power supply to the light strip.
- While holding down the multi-function button, turn on the power and keep the multi-function button pressed for an additional four (4) seconds.
The light strip will briefly flash red, then green, then blue, and finally white upon successful reset. The status indicator will also blink blue to signal synchronization mode.
Use the Razer Gamer Room app to connect the Razer Aether Light Strip to a new mobile device.
9. Configuring with Razer Synapse
ℹ️ An internet connection is required for installation, updates, and cloud-based features. Creating a Razer ID is recommended but optional. Features are subject to change.
SYNAPSE TAB
The Synapse tab is your default tab when launching Razer Synapse. It allows navigation to the Dashboard sub-tab.
Dashboard
The Dashboard sub-tab provides an overview of Razer Synapse, offering access to all your devices, modules, and Razer online services.
Gamer Room Tab
Use the Gamer Room sub-tab to manage devices directly controlled by Razer Synapse and the Razer Gamer Room app. You can turn devices on/off using the power button (?) or control them via the app.
Modules Tab
The Modules sub-tab displays all installed and available modules for installation.
Global Shortcuts
Assign Razer Synapse operations or functions to custom key combinations for all compatible device inputs that activate across all device profiles.
☑ Only inputs from Razer Synapse-compatible devices are recognized.
10. Gamer Room Tab - Customization
The Gamer Room tab is the main interface for your Razer Aether Light Strip, allowing full customization of device settings.
Customize
Use the Customize sub-tab to modify the light strip's layout and assign LEDs to each curve.
Turn Device On/Off
Click the power button (?) to turn your Razer device on or off.
Identify Device or LED Strip Curve
Click the Identify button (?) or an LED strip curve to see its placement in your physical configuration.
Rename Device
Assign a name by clicking the device's name and selecting the Rename option (✏️).
Delete Device
Remove a Razer device by hovering over its image and clicking the Delete button (❌). You will need to re-add the device in Razer Synapse.
Device Configuration
Determine the light strip's physical layout and LED count per curve for detailed lighting effect customization using the Chroma Studio module.
Refresh Connection
Click the Refresh button (?) to manually detect newly connected light strip extensions.
11. Lighting Tab - Quick Effects
Lighting
The Lighting sub-tab manages how Razer Synapse controls your device's lighting, adjusts brightness, and customizes lighting effects.
Brightness
Adjust brightness with the slider or toggle it off.
Quick Effects
Several effects can be applied to the light strip:

Audio Meter | Illuminates based on sound level with a default color spectrum. | Select a color boost level. |
Breathing | Selected colors intensify and fade progressively. | Choose up to 2 colors or randomize them. |
Fire | LEDs light up in warm colors to mimic flame movement. | No further customization required. |
Spectrum Cycle | Cycles indefinitely through 16.8 million colors. | No further customization required. |
Starlight | Each LED's lighting intensifies and fades in order or for a random duration. | Choose up to 2 colors or randomize them and choose a duration. |
Static | Remains lit in the selected color. | Select a color. |
Wave | Lighting scrolls in the selected direction. | Select a direction for Wave mode. |
If you have other Razer Chroma-compatible devices, sync their quick effects using the Chroma Sync button (?). You can also exclude this device from Chroma Connect apps/games.
ℹ️ Only devices compatible with the selected lighting effect will synchronize.
Advanced Effects
Choose a Chroma effect for your Razer Chroma-compatible device. Click the Chroma Studio button (?) to create custom Chroma effects.
12. Profiles Tab
The Profiles tab is a convenient way to manage your profiles and associate them with games and applications.
Devices
View games associated with device profiles or Chroma effects using the Devices sub-tab.
Associated Games
Add games, view associated devices/effects, or search for games. Games can be sorted alphabetically, by last played, or most played. Added games are listed even if not associated with a Razer device.
To associate games with devices or Chroma effects, click a game, select "Select a device and its profile to launch automatically...", then choose the device or Chroma effect. Use the Divers button (⋯) to select the Chroma effect or profile.
13. Settings Window
The Settings window (⚙️) allows configuration of startup behavior, display language, dashboard recommendations, firmware version, user manual access, and factory resets for connected Razer devices.
General Tab
Change display language, startup behavior, theme, and notifications. Manually sync profiles to the cloud (☁️) or view manuals for connected devices and modules.
Dashboard Tab
Customize Razer device recommendations and games displayed on the Dashboard.
Firmware Tab
View current firmware and check for updates.
Reset Tab
Perform a factory reset on connected Razer devices or reset Synapse tutorials. ℹ️ All saved profiles on the device's integrated memory will be erased during a reset.
About Tab
View software information, copyright, terms of use, check for updates, and access Razer social communities.
14. Safety and Maintenance
Safety Guidelines
- If issues persist after troubleshooting, unplug the device and contact Razer support at support.razer.com. Do not attempt self-repair.
- Do not disassemble or operate with abnormal current; this may void your warranty.
- Cutting the light strip voids the warranty and prevents configuration expansion.
- Use only supplied or Razer-approved accessories.
- Use indoors only.
- Turn off the device before moving, modifying, or connecting/disconnecting components.
- Handle accessories with care, gripping by the plug/connector.
- Mounting reliability is not evaluated; use supplementary means for secure mounting if needed.
- A maximum of 8 light strip extensions can be connected.
- Keep away from liquids and humidity. Operate between 0°C (32°F) and 40°C (104°F). Turn off and unplug if temperatures exceed limits.
Maintenance and Use
Clean monthly with a soft cloth to prevent dirt buildup. Do not use soap or harsh cleaning products.
