Mounting the Radio
Shaft Mount Radios: Snap the supplied shaft tabs into place and use the provided hardware to secure the radio to the mounting panel. Illustration C shows the components for this: a shaft radio, the MN1377 mounting panel, rear support strap, snap shaft tabs, factory DIN trim ring, SCOSCHE DIN trim ring, DIN radio, and radio sleeve. Various rear support strap samples are also depicted.
DIN Radios: The kit is DIN ready. Follow the instructions supplied with the radio to secure it to the mounting kit.
CAUTION: Rear support is essential to the installation's structural integrity.
Radio Removal and In-Dash Installation
1999-Up Mercury Villager / 1999-Up Nissan Quest
Radio Removal
- Open the drink holder ashtray assembly. Push in on the tabs near the rear of the sliding tracks to release the assembly and remove.
- Extract (2) screws from the ashtray/cup holder cavity.
- Carefully pry out on the complete radio/climate center dash bezel to release fastening clips.
- Pull the top half of the bezel away carefully unhooking the bottom half to release, and remove.
- Extract (4) screws holding the radio in, unplug, and remove.
Factory Wire Codes
NOTE: All wire codes are viewed as looking at the front of the plug with the wires exiting the rear. Use these wiring codes as a guide. Your vehicle might differ.

Assembling the Kit
Pocket Installation
To install the pocket: 1. Locate and align the bottom guides and top snaps of the pocket with the kit panel. 2. Slide the pocket on the bottom guides while aligning the top snaps. 3. Once properly aligned, the top pocket snaps will lock into the kit panel. Illustration B demonstrates this process, showing the 1.5 CD snap pocket being fitted to the mounting panel, and also provides a rear view of the mounting panel.
