Block Diagram Description

The block diagram illustrates the architecture of the SOM-5993 module. It shows the Intel® Xeon-D Ice Lake-D LCC processor at the center, connected to various components via different interfaces. Memory is supported by up to four DDR4 SO-DIMM slots (two on CHB, two on CHA). High-speed connectivity includes up to 16 lanes of PCIe Gen4, 8 lanes of PCIe Gen3, and 6 lanes of PCIe Gen3, alongside 4 ports of 10GBASE-KR Ethernet. Other interfaces include 4 ports of USB 3.0, 4 ports of USB 2.0, 2 ports of SATA3, LPC/eSPI, SPI Bus, and TPM 2.0. An embedded controller manages functions like WDT, GPIO, FAN, I2C/SMBUS, and serial ports. The module connects to carrier boards via Connector Row C, D and Connector Row A, B.
