Roomba Plus 505 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock Owner's Guide

Getting Started

  1. Remove foam inserts behind the bumper.
  2. Install the Edge-Sweeping brush and mop pads. Align the Edge-sweeping brush and press down until it clicks.
  3. Install the dock ramp by aligning it with the dock and pressing down to snap into place.
  4. Place the dock on a hard surface flooring, ensuring good Wi-Fi coverage. Keep it at least 1.5 ft (0.5 m) from both sides, 4 ft (1.2 m) from stairs, and 4 ft (1.2 m) in front. Avoid direct sunlight and clutter around the dock for optimal docking performance.

Setup and Operation

  1. Prepare the clean water tank: Remove it from the dock, fill with water and compatible cleaning solution (check http://answers.irobot.com/s/roomba-combo-cleanser for compatible solutions). Do not use other solutions or bleach-based products.
  2. Plug in the dock: Connect the power cord and wrap excess cord to prevent interference with the robot.
  3. Wake up the robot: Place the robot in front of the dock, slide it towards the dock, aligning the charging contacts. A sound will indicate it's awake. Charge for up to 4 hours before the first cleaning. To remove the robot, slide it towards you and lift.
  4. Download the Roomba® Home App: Scan the QR code or search for the app in your app store to guide you through setup and access features like custom cleaning schedules, preferences, and tips.

Spot Clean: Tap the power button twice to spot clean a designated area. The robot will end the job upon completion.

Tips: Remove excess clutter before cleaning. Use the robot frequently. After 90 minutes of inactivity off the dock, the robot ends its cleaning. Check the Roomba® Home App for status.

Note: Do not use mopping functions on unsealed hardwood floors or certain laminate/vinyl planks due to potential water damage. Visit global.irobot.com for more information.

Recommended: Use the Roomba® Home App for cleaning control, specific room cleaning, and scheduling.

Starting a Cleaning Routine from Your Dock

If clean and dirty water tanks require maintenance (indicated by LEDs), follow these steps:

  1. Lift to remove the tank needing attention.
  2. Lift the latch on the tank to open.
  3. Empty the Dirty Tank. Fill the Clean Tank with water.
  4. Close and latch the water tank lids. Place tanks back on the dock.
  5. With mop pads attached, return the robot to the AutoWash™ dock and use the app or press the HOME button on your robot.

Pad Washing and Pad Drying: The robot returns to the dock for pad washing as needed during cleaning and upon completion. Pad drying occurs at the end of the routine. Do not interrupt pad washing. It's normal to hear noises during this process. The dock blows hot air to dry the pads. Drying can last a few hours; drying times can be customized in the app. Visit the app to manually start pad washing, start/stop pad drying, or customize settings.
