Tefal Actifry Disassembly Guide
Written By: Declan Green
Introduction
This guide details the replacement of the motor in a Tefal Actifry, the component responsible for rotating the basket during cooking.
?️ Tools Required:
- T15 Security Torx Screwdriver (1)
⚙️ Parts Required:
- New Actifry Motor (1)
Step 1: Prepare for Disassembly
The Tefal Actifry is shown in its operational state. To access the internal components, turn the unit upside down. Three security screws, which need to be removed, are circled in red in the accompanying image. A subsequent image provides a close-up view of one of these screws.
Image Description: A photograph shows the Tefal Actifry appliance on a kitchen countertop, viewed from the top. The appliance is a white and clear plastic unit with a transparent lid. The bottom of the appliance, where screws are located, is visible after it has been turned upside down. Three screw locations are marked with red circles. A close-up view shows one of these security screws.
Step 2: Remove Fan Cover and Bottom Casing
Next, remove the three screws and the small fan cover located at the top end of the unit. This cover can be gently pried off using a butter knife. Removing this cover allows the bottom plastic casing of the Actifry to be detached. Start by detaching it from the fan end, then maneuver it over the lid release buttons to remove it completely.

Step 3: Access and Replace the Motor
With the bottom cover removed, the motor is now exposed. Two security screws, identical in size to those on the exterior, must be removed to detach the old motor. Disconnect the two wires connected to the old motor and connect them to the new motor. Secure the new motor in place using the screws.

Another image shows the motor unit itself, detailing its mounting points and electrical connectors. The motor casing displays specifications such as "50 Hz".
Step 4: Reconnect Wires and Reassemble Casing
Ensure the wires are snugly inserted into the new motor. Once all connections are secure, the bottom casing can be reattached. Reinstall the casing in the reverse order of its removal. Some manipulation may be required to fit it over the buttons.

Step 5: Investigate Old Motor (Optional)
The old motor was disassembled to determine the cause of failure. A circular magnet was found at the bottom, beneath the cogs. Upon closer inspection, the magnet was found to be cracked and easily came apart. It was discarded.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
