HATTEFJÄLL Office Chair Assembly Instructions
Introduction
This document provides assembly instructions for the IKEA HATTEFJÄLL office chair.
Important Safety Warning: Only trained personnel may replace or repair seat height adjustment components with energy accumulators.

Assembly Steps
Step 1: Attach Casters
Insert 5 casters into the legs of the chair base. A close-up view shows a caster being pushed firmly into the socket of a chair base leg until it clicks into place.

Step 2: Attach Gas Lift
Insert the gas lift cylinder into the central opening of the chair base. The arrow indicates insertion.

Step 3: Attach Seat Mechanism
Align the seat mechanism with the underside of the seat. Secure it using 1x Allen key and 3x screws (Part Number: 192493 / 117317).

Step 4: Connect Seat to Base
Lower the assembled seat onto the gas lift cylinder attached to the base. An arrow shows the direction of placement.

Step 5: Attach Armrests
Attach the armrests to the sides of the seat using 2x screws (Part Number: 10131427) per armrest, tightened with the Allen key (Part Number: 124345).

Step 6: Attach Protective Covers
Attach 2x plastic protective covers to the underside of the seat mechanism. They click into place.

Chair Features and Adjustments
Armrest Adjustment
The armrests can be adjusted forward and backward.

Seat Height Adjustment
Use the lever under the seat to adjust the seat height up or down. The mechanism can also be locked or unlocked.

Backrest Tilt Adjustment
Use the lever to adjust the tilt of the backrest. Multiple tilt positions are indicated.

Safety Castors Feature
The HATTEFJÄLL office chair is equipped with safety castors. These castors automatically brake when no one is sitting in the chair. This prevents the chair from rolling away when you stand up, ensuring it remains in the position you left it.
