Operating Instructions – Washer Dryer Hotpoint BHWD129

Control Panel

The control panel features the following components:

Operation Details

Start/Pause Button

The Start/Pause button starts or temporarily interrupts the wash cycle. Pressing it during a cycle will pause the machine; its indicator light will flash orange, while the current phase indicator remains lit. If the DOOR LOCKED indicator light is off, the door can be opened. Press the button again to resume the cycle from the interruption point.

Indicator Lights

Wash Cycle Phase Indicator Lights

Once a wash cycle is chosen and started, these lights illuminate sequentially to show the current phase:

Note: If a drying level or time period is set, the 'Dry' indicator light illuminates, signifying that a drying phase will follow the wash cycle.

Function Buttons and Corresponding Indicator Lights

When a function is selected, its indicator light illuminates. If a selected function is incompatible with the programmed wash cycle, its indicator light will flash, and the function will not be activated. The last compatible selection will remain active.

Door Locked Indicator Light

When this light is on, the appliance door is locked to prevent accidental opening. To avoid damage, wait for the indicator light to switch off before opening the door.

Starting a Wash Cycle

  1. Switch the washer-dryer on using the ON/OFF button. All indicator lights will illuminate briefly, then switch off, leaving the START/PAUSE indicator pulsing.
  2. Load the laundry and close the door.
  3. Set the WASH CYCLE knob to the desired programme.
  4. Set the washing temperature.
  5. Set the drying cycle if necessary.
  6. Measure out the detergent and washing additives.
  7. Select any desired functions.
  8. Start the wash cycle by pressing the START/PAUSE button. Its indicator light will remain lit.
  9. To cancel a set wash cycle, pause the machine using the START/PAUSE button and select a new cycle.
  10. At the end of the wash cycle, the END indicator light switches on. The DOOR LOCKED indicator light switches off, indicating the door can be opened. Remove laundry and leave the door slightly open for the drum to dry.
  11. Switch the washer dryer off by pressing the ON/OFF button.
