Product Overview

The Vulcan MSA Series offers heavy-duty gas griddles designed for commercial kitchen environments. These units feature robust construction, precise temperature control, and efficient heating for versatile cooking applications.

Specifications

Construction: Stainless steel front, sides, and front top ledge with a "Cool Bullnose" design. Fully welded stainless and aluminized steel chassis frame.

Cooking Height: 11" low profile cooking height on 4" adjustable legs.

Griddle Plate: 1" thick polished steel griddle plate. Features a 12-gage stainless steel back and tapered side splashes. A spatula-wide 3½" grease gutter and chute is fully welded for easier cleaning and to prevent grease migration.

Burners & Controls: Each 12" of griddle width is equipped with one 27,000 BTU/hr. "U" shaped aluminized steel burner and a mechanical snap-action thermostat. Temperature adjusts from 200°F to 550°F on steel or chrome plates, or 200°F to 450°F on Rapid Recovery™ plates. Chrome thermostat knob guards are included.

Safety Features: One pilot safety valve for every two burners ensures complete shut-off if a pilot extinguishes. Manual ignition.

Grease Management: Large 6-quart stainless steel grease drawer (two drawers provided for 60" and 72" models).

Gas Connection: ¾" rear gas connection with gas pressure regulator.

Certifications: CSA design certified, NSF listed.

Warranty: One year limited parts and labor warranty.

Exterior Dimensions (Example: MSA48): 48" width x 33" depth x 15½" height on 4" legs.

Important: Specify gas type (Natural Gas or Propane) and altitude (if above 3,999 ft.) when ordering.

Installation Instructions

  1. A gas pressure regulator supplied with the unit must be installed: Natural Gas 4.0" (102 mm) W.C. or Propane Gas 10.0" (254 mm) W.C.
  2. Clearances: 6" (152 mm) at sides and rear to combustible materials; 0" to non-combustible constructions. 4" (102 mm) bottom clearance required. Must be installed with minimum 4" legs.
  3. Installation must comply with ANSI/NFPA-70 (National Electrical Code). An adequate ventilation system is required for commercial cooking equipment (NFPA No. 96).
  4. Installation must comply with National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI-Z223.1/NFPA #54 (latest edition).
  5. Note for Massachusetts: All gas appliances vented through a ventilation hood or exhaust system must comply with 248 CMR.
  6. This appliance is manufactured for commercial installation only and is not intended for home use.
